DEATH

1. Movie Analysis.
Movie Title: Coco

The main character is Miguel who is not allowed to

(1 paragraph, 5 – 7 sentences) great grandmother removed all forms of music and
started a shoe making business that was passed
down till today. On the day of the dead he sees that
his idol who was a very famous muscian was the
father ( Ernesto Dela Cruz ) of Coco’s parents and
in the pic we see his legendary guitar. Miguel then
decides to steal Ernesto’s guitar and strum it, but
after doing so, he becomes invisible in the real
world and realizes he has entered the Land of the
Dead. He goes on a journey to receive a blessing
from his great-great-grandfather and along the way
Miguel meets Hector, who agrees to help him.
Miguel then meets Ernesto but Hector confronts
them and talks about what happened the night he
died, they both realize that Ernesto killed Hector to
seize his moment and steal of his songs. After being
thrown Miguel realizes that Hector is actually his
real great-great-grandfather, they chase down
Ernesto and gets exposed of his crimes and after
this they bless Miguel and gets back to The Land of
the Living. Miguel tells everyone the stories of
Hector after singing to his great-grandmother and
revealing that she saved the torn-off portion of the
image that Miguel had seen on the Day of the Dead,
lifting the family's prohibition on music..
Miguel – The main character and serves as the

Ernesto – Serves as the main antagonist of the story
and was thought as Miguel’s objective.
Hector – The real great, great grandfather of Miguel
who wrote all those songs that went on to be stolen
by Ernesto. Serves as the bringer of the plot twist
near the end and teaches us that we should cherish
the ones close to us.
How was death portrayed in the film you watched? Death in the film was portrayed as a new beginning
and also a new end, this is because when you die in
this world you enter a new land where all of the
dead are there as long they are remembered by
anyone but when you become forgotten you will die
again but this time permanently.
What did you learn from it? Give at least 3 1. The first thing I learned from Coco is that
important insights. (1 par. /insight with 5 sentences) we should always cherish our memories and
time with our loved ones because we don’t
know when they’ll leave us. A very good
example is what happened to Hector, who
written a lot of beautiful songs and only to
get murdered and get his songs stolen by
Ernesto. A very terrible thing that Ernesto
did who paid the price for this action. The
movie really moved me because I have seen
some of my loved ones leaving me without
warning us especially on the start of the
pandemic. So let us cherish every single
second, minute, and hour with our loved
ones and just enjoy.

2. The 2nd main thing I learned from Coco is


that we should always give back love to
anyone who deserves love and especially
our loved ones. Since they make effort for
our family and for us we should also make
the effort to do something for them or
anything that can show our love for them. In
the movie Miguel played the song
“Remember Me” by his great-great
grandfather to his great grandmother, this
shows his love for Hector, because since he
helped Miguel, he decided to not let his
efforts be in vain and so that no one will
ever forget Hector. A great ending to this
rollercoaster of a movie. We must give back
what we receive because that is the right
thing to do.

3.Always love our loved ones even after they’re


gone. Though they maybe gone, their stories and
memories and everything they stood for must be
passed upon generations. So that every generation
can learn from our loved ones and know that they
were part of the family. A good example is the
tradition Mexicans do 1 day in a year, they leave
out their past family members so that they may visit
the land of the living. This shows their love for
their family members and respect because they
chose to show their effort to the dead even after
they’re not in the physical world

A. Magbigay ng mga 5 paniniwala o pamahiin na hindi nakatutulong para mapalago ang


kristiyanong pananampalataya.

1. Magsimba lang ng linggo – Ito ay isang masamang paniniwala kasi pwede lumayo ang pagmamahal natin
sa Diyos kasi pwede naman lahat pumasok kahit anong araw at anong oras.
2. Dapat kasama ang pamilya kapag ikaw ay sisimba – Nakakabuti naman ang magsama ng miyembro ng
pamilya hindi kailangan kasama sila upang manampalataya sa Diyos, baka kasi ito ay mas mapigil ka.
3. Ang Katoliko ang totoong relihiyon at ang dapat na relihiyon para sa langit – Hindi dapat tayo tumapak
ng tao kung dahil iba ang relihiyon nila, kasi ang Diyos ay para sa pagkakaisa.
4. Basta maniwala ka sa Diyos, ligtas ka – Hindi ito totoo. Dapat tayo’y maniwala sa Diyos, ikalat ang salita
niya, at gumawa ng mabubuti sa mga tao.
5. Basta ikaw ay gumawa ng mabuti, ligtas ka – Hindi rin ito totoo kasi dapat tayo’y umamin rin sa ating
mga mali at kasalanan kasi di porket Nakagawa tayo ng mabuti hindi makakalimot ang mga nangyayari dati.

B. Anung mga hakbang ang iyong gagawin upang maialis ang mga mali at hindi banal na
paniniwala na iyong patuloy na ginagawa?

Ang gagawin ko upang umalis ang mga mali sa aking mga ginagawa ay sa pagkikinig sa Diyos lamang at
sundan ang daan na ginawa niya satin, kasi lahat tayo ay may sariling daan na may mga problema at may
paghihirap pero dapat tayo ay manitiling manampalataya at magtiwala sakanya.

After the discussion and the activity how do you see and understand death?

After the discussion and activity, I see death as an end and a new beginning. It is the end of our perishable
bodies as our emotions, past actions, and traits come with our souls, while the new beginning is our souls
leaving our bodies to be judged and enter a new world which is either heaven or hell.

BEC (Bible Sharing Group)

1. Form groups of 5 to 8. This will be your Bible Sharing Group following the BEC of the parishes.
2. Use the following steps:
a. Opening prayer (preferably the leader)
b. Kumustahan: Sharing of experiences (how are you now? Any challenges undergoing, etc)
c. The leader reads the Gospel while the members listen.
d. The members will choose a word, phrase or sentence that has a personal meaning for them.
e. The leader reads the Gospel again. This time, everyone will share their chosen word, phrase
or sentence and why.
f. The leaders reds the Gospel again then everyone will share what will be their action to be
able to fulfil God’s message to them. The action has to be concrete and specific, something
that they can actually do.
g. Close the activity with a closing prayer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

o Know the message of the Gospel for the coming Sunday Mass
o Realize that God speaks to them in the Mass and through the Bible.
o Choose to listen to God’s message and do something about it.

Mabigay ng limang bagay na natutunan sa buhay sa pagbabahagi ng iyong mga kaklase.


1. Kahit ano mangyare wag natin kalimutan isa’t isa.
2. Paghirapan ang pangarap kahit ano mangyare.
3. Kung nahihirapan, pagusapan sa taong tanggap ka.
4. Hindi mo ramdam ang panalo pag wala mga kaibigan mo.
5. Laging magpapakumbaba.

Paano mo maisasabuhay ang mga bagay na iyong natutunan?

Maisasabuhay ko ang mga natutunan ko sa mga kaibigan ko sa paraang pagtatanda sakanila kapag ako may
panahong tagumpay ako o panahong malungkot ako dapat sila ay tandaan ko lagi kasi sakanila maalala ko
ang natutunan ko sakanila.

REFLECTION/PROCESSING

After the BEC sharing and reflection how do you take now the word of God?
I take the word of God as new ways to live my life, since in these bible verses I can always learn something
new that I can take as lessons so correct my ways or adjust what I do.
