SLO Reflection

SLO’s were used in all of our projects. While some may have not been addressed directly, some

factors of the SLO were used and understood. In every project we were made to analyze the

purpose of the assignment to see how we would address it and implement it into our work. This

was mostly seen in our Genre analysis project and Telling a story in an unconventional way,

since it focused on researching a genre and seeing what its key components were and how it can

be found within the media. The constraints mentioned in SLO 1 are challenged in Telling a story

in an Unconventional way since we had to create a story in a different format commonly used.

By Analyzing what are the most common ways a story is told we had to look for uncommon

ways that could potentially tell a story in the same way just in a different medium. SLO 3 also

touches this since we had to develop different strategies to take a normal story and implement it

into a different form. As for SLO 2 and 4, the assignments that mostly used this were Gencre

across contexts and the Genre Analysis. We had to gather information and had to verify its

authenticity and whether they were appropriate to what we were trying to analyze. We researched

for the majority part and had to transform the information into an interactive visual presentation

for the Genre across contexts. As for SLO 5 we had to do reflections for the majority of our

work. We had to reflect back on our process and how we reached the end of assignment and what

we did to get to the point. It served as a way to see if we had done all the requirements that were

asked of us and what we did to achieve that.
