Opinion on Bullying
Bullying is the use of force aggressively to dominate or intimidate (Swearer & Espelage,
2012, p.6). The act of bullying may either take physical or verbal aggression resulting in an
imbalance of power. These acts manifest at schools where muscular students feel they should be
served by those they can manipulate easily. However, at workplaces, those with more robust job
security use their power to demean the lesser one and make them perform duties out of their
responsibilities. It is imperative to note that 28 per cent of young people up to grade 12 have
been victims of bullying, as Swearer & Espelage assert (2012). However, by evaluating the
effects and repercussion of bullying the documents provides an in-depth opinion analysis.
Nevertheless, the workplace or areas people spend time in also has evidence of bullying
(Swearer & Espelage, 2012). Males are thought to engage in verbal bullying compared to
women, but why so? It is becoming the systems allow for such activities to occur. For instance,
cyberbullying today has become rampant. People access social media without their consent and
use the information at their advantage. Bullying comes with many effects that lead to mental
health issues which can be prevented. For instance, depression, stress or feeling of anxiety,
suicidal thoughts, trouble at the workplace, and problems with mood and energy level are all
effects of bullying (Einarsen et al., 2010, p.178). However, teens develop bullying behavior after
experiencing the same either at home or with friends on electronic media. Conversely, this grows
into adulthood which leads to substance abuse and vandalism in the future. If children's
development is controlled through parental care, then I believe that bullying would be out of
existence.

according to Einarsen et al. (2010). Charity begins at home. If the environment at home, at
school, and the social places incorporates positive learning, bullying would not exist, especially
