I. Objectives:
To be able to predict the products formed from the given reactants; write a balanced
chemical equation for each reaction and solve problems involving stoichiometry.
II. Materials:
2 short glass bottle or drinking glass
1 tablespoon
1 small bottle vinegar
1 raw egg
III. Procedures:
1. Butane is typically used as fuel for cigarette lighters and portable stoves.
What substance is required for the complete burning of butane?

2. Put 5 tbsp. of vinegar (HC2H3O2) in a short glass bottle /drinking glass and drop
slowly 1 piece of rust-free small iron nail. Write your observation after 24 hours.
3. Carefully put a raw egg in a glass half-filled with vinegar. Replace the vinegar
on the second day. Place the glass with the vinegar and egg in a safe
place for 24 hours without disturbing it. (DO NOT BOIL AND EAT THE EGG)
