HOG PRODUCTION

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Hog Production is an integrated and innovative pig farming in the country. It


is a type of business that will integrate swine into meat production to produce raw
materials. This business operates under the entrepreneur Daisy Corpuz, who is
currently taking up a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Pig Farming is a family
business of Ms. Daisy Corpuz that is registered with relevant authorities in the
Philippines. The business will be established in the Science City of Munoz, Nueva
Ecija. The pig farming business will be situated on our rural landed farm in
Maragol, Munoz. The business name is Hog Production because in British English
Hog means Pig and production it is the act of creating an output, a good or
service that has value to the consumer. Additionally, Pig farming is the raising and
breeding of domestic pigs as livestock and is a branch of animal husbandry.

The business will be concerned with the rearing of pigs and piglets, and
also the processing and packaging of pig meat (pork). Ms. Corpuz wants to
deliver and provide one of the best and gives high-quality meat production to the
pig. And one of our goals is to make pig Natural Piggery Farming is a production
method that maintains pig welfare, maintains the environment, and promotes
public health by using meals devoid of feed supplements, antibiotics, and animal
by-products. It is a technique that encourages pigs to behave naturally, emits less
odor, and produces nutritious meat. After researching what kind of customers
want in distributing our business we came in two kinds of distribution, first direct
selling in the market and the second is home delivery in food stores and
restaurants

MISSION STATEMENT

Hog Product set the standard that we continuously seek out, examine and
refine processes to drive improvement and remain a good leader in the business
industry. We thrive in the opportunities presented by a changing business
environment, just like using organic farming and valuing environmental health and
producing high-quality meat products for our customers.
FARM HISTORY
In the Philippines, raising hogs or pigs is a highly common enterprise, with
a large number of backyard farmers who are primarily involved in the pig industry
and a stable and profitable commercial market. Pig farming is the practice of
growing and breeding domestic pigs for use as livestock. For Filipinos, supporting
their everyday life is a routine business. Pork is the main crop grown and
consumed in the Philippines and pigs are mostly raised for food.

Ms. Corpuz came from a poor family in Nueva Ecija, so when she was a
child and take a course of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. The family owns a
rice farm but it does not have enough to support their needs because all of her
siblings are still studying and her mother is the only one working in the family to
provide for their needs. Their family situation in spires Ms. Corpuz to build a
business.

Hog Production wants to expand its business, make more prosper, and
also produce organic livestock. In order to launch your pig farming enterprise, you
need a space big enough to create the required pig houses and other farm
facilities. When choosing the location for your piggery farm, take into account the
state of the roads because vehicles will use them to transport both animals from
the farm and pig feed to the piggery farm. You must therefore locate your piggery
farming firm in an area with good roadways. Aspects like whether there is
adequate room to build more pig stay homes should also be taken into account if
you plan to expand your pig farming business in the future. Consider water
flooding when choosing a location for your land. Flooding of the area where the
pigs are would be detrimental.
Piggery uses this study to launch its business idea. According to Ms. Daisy
and her family's acceptance of the request to join Piggery's business, the board
member's desire of starting a business was made more attainable with the help of
the business partners. Additionally, Piggery is derived from hog farms. Overall, the
Piggery's concept and location were established and officially scheduled for
construction in the Brgy in December 2022. Nueva Ecija's Maragol Science City is in
Munoz.

CURRENT SITUATION

Therefore, depending on the size and other aspects of the original


investment, the launch of a new livestock harvesting enterprise would differ greatly.
The modest farm is where the piggery first began. However, the piggery has grown
and improved throughout the years. Additionally, the piggery improves packing
practices in an effort to convince markets to join the business. In Nueva Ecija and
certain other areas of region III, the pig farm will be recognized as the leading
producer in the local market.

The size of the piggery floor area is 2m x 1.5 m for each pig. The quantity of
pig is 60 swine. To give a summary, Piggery is a prosperous business, because of
the increasing per capita consumption in the Philippines. And also the business will
keep the hard work, determination, vision, mission, and goal of the business to
serve the best quality meat of the swine and fish.
VISION

The goal of the pig farm is to become the most recognized livestock operation
in Nueva Ecija's southern region in terms of output, scale, innovation, quality, and
best product delivery. Improved rural livelihoods and sustainable food, resolve the
persistent and widespread malnutrition in developing countries using an integrated
farming system.

GOALS
We make the most of the opportunities provided by a shifting business
climate, just as we use organic farming, prioritize environmental health, and provide
our customers with high-quality meat products. Additionally, we should enhance
our swine production stocks and improve our cutting-edge integrated agricultural
system. Moreover, minimizing the usage of pesticides and fertilizers will help
society and the environment benefit from chemical-free, healthy meat production.
The most crucial thing is for our society to put integrated farming into practice using
organic or farm waste.
MARKETING

As marketing is one of the most essential channels to reach the end goal of one’s
business, Hog Production makes sure to give its best in making strategies and tactics.
Through the use of the latest technology, we intend to take opportunities with the use of
social media outlets such as Facebook or Instagram. In this way, we can boost our
sales and inform people how good the quality of our product is.

DISTRIBUTIONS

In this business, the company would like to sell our hog by direct selling and deliver
through our very own market of the Science City of Munoz. Other than this, we will also
accept online orders to further boost our sales when it comes to distribution but it’ll be
wholesale. In this way, it will make the sale more efficient.
PRODUCTS

The Hog Farm will produce high-quality pig meat because it is organic. Organic
meat comes from animals that are not given any artificial substance. Organic food is
produced without using most conventional feeds made with synthetic ingredients. The
product will be introduced to the market as organic. Before a product can be labeled as
“organic”, the government-approved certifier inspects the farm where the food is grown
to make sure the farmer is following all the rules necessary to meet organic standards.

COMPETITION

The Philippine swine industry is ranked eighth in the world in terms of the volume of
pork production and the number of breeding sows. However, the majority or two-thirds of
the pigs in the Philippines are kept by smallholder pig raisers.
However, we have a twist when it comes to our product. Not all pigs are raised
naturally. There are many farms using an artificial substances to boost their productivity
when it comes to swine production. We the hog Production aim to serve people with the
highest quality of pig meat in the market.
HUMAN RESOURCES

A skilled and effective employee is key to the farm's success and profitability. The
group consists of people around our barangay. People in our place are productive
because they are quite used to this line of work. We intend to hire people that are
mostly driven by their passion to make this business successful
OPERATIONS
The day-to-day operation of our business includes focusing on providing the best
customers with a product of innovation that we have discovered. Although piggery is not
new anymore. We intend to compete in this large competitive section because we want
people to taste the best quality when it comes to pig meat.

As for the main goal of this business, we aim to help the environment by
decreasing air pollution by recycling the waste of the animals and turning it into a
fertilizer for the plants around our farm.

This would include all the tasks aimed at preventing, diagnosing, curing animal
diseases, and guaranteeing their welfare. This includes daily observation of the animals,
application of pharmacological treatments, housing and pen density planning, cleaning,
transfer to the infirmary, etc.

Cleanliness and order both outside and inside the warehouses. Upkeep in perfect
working condition all the elements or mechanisms that are in contact with the pigs: silos
and feed transport lines, purification and water transfer equipment, medications,
ventilation, heating, windows and aviaries, pest control, corpse container, etc.

In the everyday job of a pig keeper, both physical and mental tasks must be
performed. To not forget and guarantee that they are met, it is instrumental to set up a
routine control of all the tasks to be carried out during a day, a week, or between cycles.

FINANCING
To finance our growth and full-time production, the land hog production is located at
approximately ¼ of a hectare. And as for the new equipment for long-term assets taking
that total up to a total of 50,000 pesos for the piggery all in all. We choose Large white
swine, and we will buy 50 Large White breed piglets costing an estimated 90,000 pesos.
We expected to have a profit ranging from 300,000 – 400,000 pesos and above on our
first harvest after 8 months since the business started.
