demand. We have to proper hunt a product which

Product Hunting Techniques.


Spying on Brands
In this technique we look after the sales of successful
brands to check whether we can go in that product or
not.
• We will browse through different categories on
Amazon to hunt a good product.
• We will use Ali Express, Walmart, EBay, Etsy ETC for
dropshipping.

Bullet Launch
If your client’s budget is low ask him to source
product from his homeland country instead of china.
• In product information option we can click on BSR
option to check different product and this will help
us a lot in product hunting.
• After running X ray of Helium 10. Remove all
sponsored products from results and set revenue
from high to low.
• In Helium 10 X ray report among top 10 at least 3
sellers must have BSR less than 5000.
• Product must be stable not seasonal.
• We need 30 keywords whose search volume is more
than 500.
• For keywords research we have to run keyword
analysis on Helium 10 X Ray report.
• In selection phase of 30 keywords we have to check
the relevancy of each keyword in Magnet tool by
checking its details. (Arrow button front on keyword)
• The word which customer used in finding the right
product along with different variation. E.g. Neck

Price Analysis
❖ In price analysis we check the lowest price of
product on which seller is selling and check its
quality from product reviews. After that we try
to sell our product less than lowest price on
Amazon to compete other same products
although its selling price is in loss.
❖ On the other hand if our sourcing is good
enough than on selling it at low price its equal to
our sourcing price and in start we are neither in
loss or profit.
❖ When our product is ranked well enough and
have some positive reviews than we can
increase it price keeping in mind our profit.
Inventory Planning o In inventory planning we try to
maintain the stock of our product if it is selling good
enough. Before going out of stock our next inventory
should be at Amazon warehouse to avoid the de
ranking of our product. If we went out of stock for
weeks or months then our product listing will be de
ranked from Amazon search results.

Shipping Methods
The method in which supplier will send you your
inventory. Its cost varies with different methods E.g.
Air Fright, Sea port etc.
Incoterms 1. DDP (Delivery Duty Paid)
Its delivery agreement in which supplier prepare
your inventory, pack it, and shipped it to your
destination warehouse. All cost and duties are
paid in this incoterm and its safest module of
supplying inventory. All customs taxes are paid by
supplier.

2.FOB (Freight on Board)


In FOB supplier is liable of preparing your
inventory, pack it and send it to its homeland
country’s port or shipping destination.

3.EXW (Ex Works Price)


In this term supplier prepare your inventory and
keep it at designated factory location. You are
responsible for checking, inspection and
shipping expenses of your inventory.

4. DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid)


In this method supplier prepare and send your
inventory to your destination country’s port
where you received it by yourself and you have
to pay all your country’s custom taxes

Difference between actual and dimensional weight

A+ content listing

The product listing which contain detailed feature


of product with images in description in a beautiful
way.

Pre Requisites of Amazon listing

• Approval from Amazon

• Barcodes (UPC codes)
• Product images from professional photo-shoot
• Product details already written in MS Word
• Product details will be provided by supplier
• A good content already written

What is Barcode/UPC?
➢A barcode or UPC is unique readable code by
machine and it’s same for same product in bulk
stock.
➢We buy barcodes from GS1 website
➢GS1 website is both for UK and USA market.
➢Never buy cheap barcodes from different
websites as(Ebay) they are sometime used and
Amazon will delete our listing

Error 5665

Amazon wants proof that you are owner of product


before you create listing under that product name.
In this case we take pictured of product with
trademark register, barcode of product and brand
logo and send it to Amazon that this is our product
and kindly approve its listing on Amazon.
What is Title, Bullet points and Description?

➢We have searched normally 25 to 30 keywords


in product hunting
➢In product listing ask content writer to fit all
these keywords in title(2 to 3), bullet points (8
to 12) and description (10 to 15)

Vine program

▪Amazon will bring you 30 reviews from its loyal


customers by giving them our product for free
▪Reviews should be good or bad based on quality
▪Vine program is only for new listings
▪Keep in mind your product should be of good
quality before applying for this program
▪Amazon brand registry is must for vine program
and A+ content description
▪Being a VA it’s our responsibility for clients
product confidentiality as a new seller

Backend search terms

▪The keywords only seller can see and these are


used to tell Amazon algorithm that a specific
keyword belong to your listing
▪Backend search term keywords should not
include in listing content

Enhanced brand content (EBC) or A+ content


• In A+ content manager tab, we will select pics module according to our
need and we will upload pics and content provided by our content writer or
written by our self

• Pics in perfect dimensions will be provided by hired Graphic designer


• Product listing is created first and then on allotted ASIN number by Amazon
for that product we add A+ content

How to add variations in product listing?

• We usually don’t dive in product which has variations


• If we select product which has good market potential and has 2 to 3
variations than we can go for it

• We convince our client as a VA to not go for variable product or at least go


for 3 to 4 variations product

• We can add variations of our product by clicking on variation tab while


creating product listing on Amazon Seller Central

Dummy listing

• We create dummy listing of product to generate barcodes and gave it to


supplier so he can put them on products.

• We put only details on product tab which are required and having a star tab
on the requirement

• We can edit that dummy listing with true details when we are ready to
launch our product

Suppressed listings

• Suppressed listing occurs when a specific product listing doesn’t quite live
according to Amazon vigorous standards.
• It occurs when we do minor or any mistake in listing our product. In that case Amazon
will tell us our mistake and ask us to fix it than your listing will go live

Me Too Listing

• In this module we sell those product which are already sold on Amazon by
brands

• We didn’t had to create a separate listing for selling on Amazon


• It is mainly used in FBA Wholesale
• Product listing and all other things are set up by the main brand or seller,
we took permission and buy product in bulk from brand and make our
listing on that unique listing ASIN number

• Never use Me Too listing in Private Label.

Checklist for creating Amazon shipment plan

✓ Amazon purpose plan for splitting your inventory between fulfillment


centers by Amazon Seller Central
✓ Package dimensions which are provided by the supplier e.g. 10 boxes,
weight is 45KG, length and width everything
✓ Choose the shipping option in Amazon shipment plan
✓ For example we have 200 units of the product with 10 boxes (20 units in
each box) and total weight is 220KG
✓ Always tell Amazon the location of country from where shipment is coming
✓ Always ask dimensions, complete documentations and other details from
supplier for creating shipment plan
✓ Amazon chooses the right warehouse for your shipment and gave you the
warehouse arrival address
✓ Amazon warehouse address may be different for each shipment plan

How to create Amazon shipment plan A

Amazon PPC (Pay per Click)

We run sponsored ads of our product to rank it from last page search results to
first page to boost our sales and reviews by paying to Amazon.

Types of advertising campaigns

❖ Product display campaign ( when someone search for a product with a
specific keyword our product shows in 1st line)

❖ Product campaign (when we click on any product and we want to show our
product under that, it’s also called ASIN targeting
❖ Video campaign ( when someone search for a product and our video
started playing for searched keyword

Auto campaign

❖ We run campaign on 1 product only as in start we launch only 1 product


❖ Normally in auto campaign we don’t choose campaign end date
❖ We usually go for dynamic bid down only in bidding strategy
❖ At a time we can run multiple campaigns on product to check performance
❖ In start we run auto campaign to gather data on which keywords our
conversion is high, than we target those keywords in manual campaign
Manual campaign

• In manual campaign we select manual targeting instead of auto


• We run manual campaign by selecting exact keyword that we selected
not phrase neither broad

• We can enter our own created list of keywords also in manual targeting
instead of going for Amazon suggested keywords

• We will often go for Amazon suggested CPC bid but we can enter our
also. Suggested bid is recommended

• If we didn’t want to show our product in result of specific keyword


search than we will right it negative targeting tab

• In manual targeting we can also target a specific product on which our


product ad will be shown

• We can note keywords in Excel file and also upload this file while
creating campaign to add keywords in keyword targeting

• After running auto campaign for 1 month we download report from


campaign manager tab and we note that keywords on which we get
sales in past month

Sponsored video Ads o We run video ads of usually 30 to 40

seconds of duration

o We will go in sponsored brand tab while creating campaign for video ads o
We will upload video provided by client or video editor and upload it in given
tab keeping in mind video requirements provided by Amazon Sponsored
Display Ads
▪ While creating sponsored display ad we will go with sponsored display tab
▪ Normally we don’t use sponsored display ad in private label
▪ Sponsored display ad shows on top of search results with brand details and
product key features in details

▪ In private label we usually don’t go with display ads as we launch only 1
product in start but in case of multiple launches we can use display ads

What is buy box and its benefits?

➢ Buy box usually works in Wholesale and Drop shipping


➢ When multiple Me Too listings are created on a product than Amazon gave
buy box to each seller timely when that product is searched by customer
➢ Amazon rotates buy box between sellers indefinitely on sales basis
➢ On Amazon almost up to 70% buyers don’t know the knowledge of buy box

Eligibility of Buy Box

✓ You need professional account for buy box


✓ There is no guarantee that you will win buy box
✓ Order defect rate should be less than 1%
✓ Order cancellation rate should be less than 2.5%
✓ Minimum late shipment rate
✓ Order cancellation mostly occurs in FBM model

Amazon old and new seller account

▪ Not much difference in new and old account for private label
▪ Wholesale business affects the new seller account
▪ Usually brands don’t allow us to sell their product if our account is new
▪ Profit margin will be increased by contacting direct brand owner
▪ New account seller will go to distributor for wholesale product and
distributor will gave him permission by keeping his margin also
▪ Old seller account with no activity for certain months is same as newly created account
▪ It is nearly impossible for new account seller to take permission from direct
brand. Chances are below than 1%
▪ Old account with some selling history on either Wholesale or Private Label
are very good in Drop shipping model as Amazon knows this account has a
past selling history

✓ We use coupon to give discount to buyers to increase sales


✓ We can offer up to 90% discount on products via coupon
✓ We can offer different coupon to different buyers
✓ We can generate coupon from seller center by going into Advertising tab
and then by going into vouchers tab
