you know you
should do even when
you do not want to
Mastering the art of self
discipline
Principles in Self Discipline
PRINCIPLE #1: BELIEVE

It is Possible to Develop Self-

Discipline and Achieve Your Goal
BELIEVE

In order to develop the self-

discipline you need to
achieve your goals and
dreams, you must BELIEVE
that you can.
PRINCIPLE #2: COMPOUND EFFECT

Harness the Power of the Compound

Effect by Developing Healthy Habits
COMMIT TO SMALL,
INCREMENTAL STEPS

The Compound Effect shows us

that we need not set extreme,
out-of-reach practices in order
to have success.

Be specific about the habits that

will help you reach your goal.
Remember, habit is like Compounding Interest,
you will not realise that your daily actions if repeated will lead to
a habit, whether its good or bad...

Even though it is “just for today”

ASSIGNMENT 1

Tiny change, Remarkable Results

The first task is to list down all your daily routine in number format. If the
routine you do is positive and necessary then put a (+) at the end of the
line. If it is a not urgent or not important routine then put a (+-) at the
end.

The second task is to check the list you have made and add a new routine
with new empowering habits that will build you into a healthier and
successful person replacing all the old poor habits

Example:
1. Wake up in the morning (+)
2. Check handphone (+-) New: Check handphone during breakfast or later
3. Brush Teeth and bath (+)
4. Exercise (+)
5. Eat Nasi Lemak (+-) New: Eat nasi lemak only once a week
6. GO to work (+)
7. Check FB during work (+-) New : Check Facebook during lunchtime
8. ...... (and so on until going to sleep)

PRINCIPLE #3: DEVELOP TRUE GRIT

Step Outside Your Comfort Zone and

Sustain Your Effort
DEVELOP GRIT

Expect and accept that it will

feel uncomfortable, and that’s
actually a good thing.

It means you’re challenging

yourself to achieve your full
potential!
PRINCIPLE #4: TAKE CHARGE OF
YOUR INNER CRITIC

Manage the Conversation in Your

Head
MANAGE YOUR INNER
DIALOGUE

The conversation in your head

determines your success.

Identify what your inner critic is

saying, and then consciously
develop a more positive dialogue
that will encourage you to
persevere.
PRINCIPLE #5: MANAGE YOUR
ENERGY

Proper Self Care

TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH

Sleep, diet, exercise

PRINCIPLE #6: CREATE SUPPORT
STRUCTURES

Stay on Track
BUILD-IN STRUCTURES THAT
SUPPORT

Support structures are the

anchors that keep you on track
on a day to day basis.
PRINCIPLE #7: FOCUS ON ONE
SMALL STEP AT A TIME

Then Move to the Next

ADOPT A LASER FOCUS

Focus on one small step, master

it, and then take another small
step toward your goal.
PRINCIPLE #8: BUILD GRADUAL
PLAN

Over Time
BUILD A STEADY, GRADUAL
PLAN

Just like merging onto a

highway, building a steady,
gradual plan that progressively
increases momentum has a
greater chance of sustainability
and success than abrupt, jerky
and impulsive efforts.
PRINCIPLE #9: DEVELOP A GROWTH
MINDSET

Don’t get Discouraged by Setbacks

CHOOSE A GROWTH MINDSET
OVER A FIXED ONE

We understand that mistakes

are a part of the process, learn
from them, and move forward to
the next level, with greater
clarity and wisdom than before.

A growth mindset gives us the

resilience we need to reach our
most ambitious goals and
dreams.
