a) It means to have access and enough understanding of global products, and or cultures to

effectively use it at and as your own. Similarly, the term globalization has this imprint in my

mind such that each person who is considered “globalized” does not and should not feel alien

towards these new concepts, ideas, cultures, and items outside their respective countries or

region. This also means having tolerance regarding other cultures. Because as we all know,

some cultures do not agree with the views of others and vice versa. Being a global citizen

means being able to learn from other communities and cultures as well. A global citizen mostly

refers to an individual’s sense of belonging. To be a globalized citizen, at least in my mind, you

must involve yourself and open up to the knowledge provided by other cultures and countries

via direct or indirect interaction. It also means having the freedom to choose outside your

nation’s choices. The freedom and multitudes of paths that can be forged outside your nation are

what it means for me to become a global citizen. The concern that you give to the global

situation (i.e., the way you affect others, and the way you react). Your choices and actions are

made towards the common good.

b) A global citizen must have an open mind and is open to various ways of thinking and be able to

consider the views of others, and relating to this, they also must have cultural awareness in way

that all cultures are different and views may vary and may even be opposites to one another.

Social responsibility is also a must. Because as you may know, your actions impact your

surroundings and others, and vice versa. And lastly, global citizens must have empathy, just as

they have an open mind that accepts and considers the views of others, they must also place

themselves in the shoes of others.

c) Firstly, a national citizen or national citizenship means that that person is bound by legal terms

inside their country but compared to a global citizen where they are bound by the sense of

individuality and sense of belonging. Relating to the first sentence, the level of focus also serves
as the difference. Being a national citizen is again focused mainly on the legal things laws that

the person must abide by. Unlike being a global citizen that is only focused or concerned about

the global community and the impact that the person has. Personal values and beliefs also play a

role in their difference. Because while national citizenship focuses on the nation’s defined legal

and right way to do things, global citizenship focuses on the common good and social justice.

Lastly mobility, in the sense that in national citizenship, a person might focus more inside their

country and the opportunities behind that only country. While on the other hand, global citizens

are freer compared to national citizens in terms of mobility of opportunities. They are more

flexible (the global ones) compared to the national ones.
