Pressure from friends
➔ Friends help us develop social skills – like making new friends,
respecting differences between people, and agreeing or disagreeing
with someone. But sometimes it's our friends who get us into
trouble.

➔ This pressure can be direct or indirect. Peer

pressure can drive us to do unimportant
things, but it can also drive us to do things
with serious consequences.
Pressure from family
In what ways does parental pressure influence children's lives?

Parental pressure can manifest itself in different ways, even if there is no

intention:
● oblige to get the best grades in the class;
● comparison with siblings of other ages, cousins, neighbors or other
acquaintances;
● insistence on choosing the profession that you or your spouse
followed;

How can we control this problem?

● be available to answer questions and help with studies;

● attend school meetings and maintain close dialogue with teachers;
● Compliment your children on small and large school achievements.
Pressure from teachers
School is a big part of a teenager's life. Difficulties in almost all areas of life manifest as school problems,
such as:

-fear of going to school

-Absences without permission

-depression

Adolescents who repeatedly miss classes or drop out of school have made a
conscious decision to be absent. They often engaged in high-risk behaviors
such as unprotected sex, drug use, and violence.

Adolescents at risk of dropping out of school should be informed about other

educational options, like vocational training, equivalent degrees and
alternative programs.
