Configuration Menu
 Miscellaneous
 Automatic Buzzer Off: Causes buzzer to “beep” briefly
instead of staying on. Useful during initial setup to keep
your sanity. Times out automatically.
 Fuel Consumption: The DCU can calculate fuel
consumption. Leave this disabled because we don’t want
to expose possible disagreement between panel and ECM.
 Speed Relays: The DCU has configurable outputs such as
relays and 24V on/off outputs. They can be triggered off of
various events. This function allows you to set a certain
engine speed and use it as a trigger. You can also log an
event in the Event Log if you wish.

 Miscellaneous (cont’d)
 Counters Source: The DCU can calculate counters in
the panel. Leave this set to J1939 since the ECM
should be the authority.
 Start/Stop Buttons: Latched or “Hold-to” start/stop
 Network Configuration: Change DCU’s IP address
 Factory Reset: Use sparingly. Note: once activated,
the DCU must be completely powered off (not just
sleep mode) to take effect

 SDU
 Speed Sensor Configuration: Change the SDU setting for its
independent speed sensor. Note: these should always be
set to the same value, since we have a single sensor with 2
coils, reading the same flywheel.
 Update DCU  SDU and Update SDU  DCU:
• Certain settings (such as Overspeed threshold) are used in both
the DCU and SDU. When there is a mismatch, the DCU will
raise a warning. In order to clear the warning, one of these 2
options must be selected:
– If SDU config is correct (e.g. installing a new DCU), choose
SDU  DCU
– If DCU config is correct (e.g. installing a new SDU), choose
DCU  SDU

acknowledged without the captain’s knowledge

 Touch “Scan” to display all DCUs on the network
 Touch checkbox to “Ignore” a DCU: an Ignored DCU is
completely invisible to the RP except in this screen
 Shows name, IP, and software version of each DCU
 Shows “Upgrade required” if software version is
incompatible
 Always Scan, Save & Exit after upgrading DCU or RP
software
