Load Calculation
The design loading for the bridge has been considered in accordance with
IRC:6-2016 (Load and Stresses) so as to sustain the most critical comnination of
various loads, forces and Stresses

A. Dead Load(DL)
Self weight of the Top slab= 11.25 kN/m
Self wt. of the bottom slab= 11.25 kN/m
Self weight of the side slab= 10 kN/m
Self weight of hunches= 0.01125 kN/m
B. SIDL
Conservatively total fill height is considered as road crust including wearing
coat.
Density of wearing coat considered for
road crust= 22 kN/m3
Load due to WC = 1.65 kN/m
Weight of Crash Barrier/railing= 9.125 kN/m

C. Earth pressure (EP)


Since the side walls are effectively restrained against movement, At rest earth
pressure is considered for design. Co-effecident of earth pressure at rest (k o) is
calculated as per below formula (Jaky's equation)

Calculation of effective width of loading
Live Load dispersion has been considered for design as per ANNEX B-3 of IRC
112-2011.
