Biography Bj Habibie

B.J. Habibie, in full Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, born June 25, 1936. B.J. Habibie is the fourth
of eight children, the pair Alwi Abdul Jalil Habibie and R.A. Tuti Marini Puspowardojo. His
father, who works as an agricultural expert, comes from Gorontalo ethnicity, while his
mother is from Javanese ethnicity. Alwi Abdul Jalil Habibie (father of B.J. Habibie) has the
clan "Habibie", one of the original clans in the Pohala'a (Kingdom and Kinship) social
structure in Gorontalo. Meanwhile, R.A. Tuti Marini Puspowardojo (mother of B.J. Habibie)
is the son of an ophthalmologist in Yogyakarta, and his father, Puspowardjojo, is the owner
of the school.
The Habibie clan has historically originated from the Kabila region, an area in Bone Bolango
Regency, Gorontalo Province. From the family tree, the grandfather of B.J. Habibie was a
religious leader, a member of the religious court board and one of the famous Gorontalo
traditional leaders at that time. The Habibie family in Gorontalo is known to be fond of
raising cattle, owning a large number of horses, and owning coffee plantations. As a child,
Habibie had visited Gorontalo to follow the process of circumcision and traditional
ceremonies which were carried out according to Islamic law and Gorontalo customs. Among
all the hobbies possessed by the third former president of the Republic of Indonesia, B.J
Habibie, of course, the most interesting is the love of collecting cars. During his life, he was
known as a figure who liked touring and kept antique vehicles. The child is chatty and
curious. However, what is most phenomenal is his genius in the field of aeronautical
technology so that he obtained a doctorate in Germany. One of the inventions hitherto used
by all aircraft in the world is the so-called "Crack Progression Theory" or the Habibie factor.
B. J. Habibie studied at Dago Christian High School. Habibie then studied mechanical
engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia Bandung (now the
Bandung Institute of Technology) in 1954. In 1955–1965, Habibie continued his study of
aeronautical engineering, specializing in aircraft construction, at RWTH Aachen, West
Germany, receiving an engineering diploma. in 1960 and a doctorate in engineering in 1965
with the title summa cum laude. Known as the figure of the scientist and father of
Indonesian technology, BJ Habibie is also well known in the world of aviation. The 3rd
President of the Republic of Indonesia is known for his progression theory which is so
important in the world of aviation, especially aircraft. appreciation

After he left office as president, Habibie had lived and settled in Germany. However, during
the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's presidency, he returned to being active as an
adviser to the president to oversee the democratization process in Indonesia through the
organization he founded the Habibie Center and eventually settled and domiciled in
Indonesia. Habibie had worked at Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm, an airline company based
in Hamburg, Germany. In 1973, he returned to Indonesia at the request of former president
Soeharto. Habibie then served as Minister of State for Research and Technology from 1978
to March 1998. B. J. Habibie's breakthroughs during his tenure as Minister of Research and
Technology began with his desire to implement the "Indonesian Vision". According to
Habibie, Indonesia's leaps and bounds in the "Vision of Indonesia" relied on research and
technology, particularly in strategic industries managed by PT. IPTN, PINDAD, and PT. PAL.
The target is that Indonesia as an agricultural country can jump directly into an industrial
country with mastery of science and technology.
Meanwhile, when serving as Minister of Research and Technology, Habibie was also elected
as the first Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI). Habibie was
elected by acclamation to become Chairman of the ICMI on December 7, 1990.
The peak of Habibie's career occurred in 1998, when he was appointed President of the
Republic of Indonesia (21 May 1998 - 20 October 1999), after previously serving as the 7th
Vice President (served from 14 March 1998 to 21 May 1998) in the Development Cabinet.

Wedding
At first, the love story between Habibie and Ainun began when they were teenagers, when
both were still in Junior High School. However, the two of them only paid attention to each
other when they both attended Dago Christian High School, Bandung, West Java. Their
communication was finally cut off after Habibie continued studying and working in
Germany, while Ainun remained in Indonesia and studied at the Faculty of Medicine,
University of Indonesia.

B.J. Habibie married Hasri Ainun Besari on May 12, 1962 in Rangga Malela, Bandung.
Habibie and Ainun's marriage contract was held according to Javanese customs and culture,
while a wedding reception was held the next day with Gorontalo customs and culture at the
Preanger Hotel. When married to Habibie, Ainun was faced with two choices, choosing to
continue working at the children's hospital in Hamburg or taking part in working behind the
scenes as a wife and housewife. After discussing with Habibie, Ainun finally chose the
second option. From their second marriage, Habibie and Ainun were blessed with two sons,
namely Ilham Akbar Habibie and Thareq Kemal Habibie. The son, Thareq Kemal Habibie, said
that the cause of BJ Habibie's death was due to a weakened heart due to aging, died
September 11, 2019, Jakarta.
