B.4 Condition : The sculpture is in a sturdy and intact
condition. The ornamentation done is easily
identifiable and readable. No signs of abrasions and
wearing are present.
B.5 Display : The sculpture is currently placed upright
on a pedestal.
C. Theme

• At the very first glance we understand that the


sculpture depiction and some kind of narrative
related to the Hindu god, ‘SHIVA’.
• The artist’s name is, Sivakumar, one of it’s
meaning being , the son of god Shiva which
suggests that the sculpture artist could be a
devotee of god Shiva which can be the
inspiration for making the artwork.
D. Function

• It is a religious and devotional sculpture that is made for public display which emphasis on the
Hindu god Shiva and a few of his and the worshiping attributes.

and the pedestal.
