Biography

Kristopher J. Carlile

This Biography will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will be my personal life outside of the military. Part
2 will cover my military experience.

Part 1.

I was born in the Pacific Northwest in Portland Oregon. My Family then moved to Pocatello Idaho.
Finally, to Salt Lake City Utah. I was active in Sports as a youth which included Soccer, Football and
Basketball. During my Junior and High School years I achieved Athlete letters in Swimming and Track and
Field. I was also active in the Marching Band and Acapella Choir which I also received awards.

After High School I completed a Mormon mission to the country of Australia. After that time, I returned
and began my higher education at Salt Lake Community College and then at the University of Utah
where I was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. After college I went
on to complete the Emergency Medical Technician Basic course and was National and State qualified.

My Civilian employment has included retail experience, management of night food services at the
University of Utah Hospital, Protective Service Officer for Salt Lake County Sheriff and currently working
full time at Merit Medical Systems and Allied Barton Security.

My hobbies include reading, swimming, ballroom dancing and snowboarding.

Part 2.

I enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard as a 75B Unit Administrative Clerk with the 115 th
Maintenance Company. My highest Rank was E-5 SGT.

I entered the Army ROTC at the University of Utah and was commissioned in 2004 as a Medical Service
Corps Officer. I was assigned as Platoon Leader with the 144 th Area Support Medical Company. That unit
was deployed to Iraq while I was completing OBC. Upon completing OBC I was attached to the Rear
Detachment with the Utah Medical Command. At length I was deployed as a member of an Embedded
Training Team to Afghanistan as a Police Mentor, due to my Law Enforcement Experience. My duties on
deployment were as Assistant Team Leader, Team Leader and Regional Logistics Mentor for all of
Northern Afghanistan. After returning from Afghanistan I was assigned to 640 th Regional Training
Institute first as an OCS Platoon Training and then as the HHD Company Commander. It was during this
time I attend the Logistics Captains Career Course. My current assignment is with the 204 th Maneuver
Enhancement Brigade first as Logistics Officer than I was transferred to the Brigade Medical Service
advisor when that position became vacant. I just received word in November of 2015 that I was board
selected for Major.

Goals for transfer to the Reserves. I would like to find a slot that allows me to promote to Major but stay
in the Army Medical Command. I would like to complete the ILE course. Complete a tern of service that
fulfills the requirements for an Army Retirement.
