Answer all the following Problems:

Problem no.1

Radar has average transmitter power is 100W, the pulse width of the
transmitted pulses is 1μs and its pulse repetition frequency is 2000 Hz,
Calculate the resolution in range, the maximum unambiguous range and
the peak power of the transmitter?

Problem no.2

Radar is required to detect a target with a radar cross section of 2 m2 when

it operates at a frequency of 2.9 GHz ,the antenna is rectangular 5m wide,
2.7 m high, antenna aperture efficiency ρa=0.6 and the minimum
detectable signal Smin = 10-13 W ,What is the range (km) of this radar?

Problem no.3
Calculate the maximum range of Radar system which operates at 3 cm
wavelength with peak power of 500 kW, if Pmin is 10-12 w, the effective
area of its antenna is 5 m square, and cross section area of target is 20 m
square.

Problem no.4
RADAR with the peak power at 500 kW, the power gain of antenna is
5000 and minimum power of receiver is 10-14 w, Calculate the maximum
range of Radar system if the effective area of antenna is 10 m square, and
target cross section area is 4 m square.

Problem no.5
Compare between the next two Radars and comment on your answer?
