experience of enjoyment and pleasure.

•Planning and furnishing should be based on function.

How to develop a good taste
•Observe – develop the good personal taste.
•Visits to museums, historical and modern homes, local furniture show rooms,
exhibitions and other displays.
•See things and compare them for good or poor features.
•Reading news papers and magazines
•Observe colour, pattern, line shape, texture,balance, emphasis, rhythm, scale,
propotions

•Analysis –examine them in details. analyse the qualities that exhibit good
design or vise versa.study each one of them as an achievement or faliure in
design.
•Develop an ability to analyze all the objects for good taste before finalizing
the choice.

•Collect ideas- collect and compile the articles


•Eg: from news papers and magazines etc and develop preference for one item
and over another.
•Make wish purchases – it is not always necessary that the mass
acceptability of an item is a good criterion of a design.
•Eg: fashionable clothing become outdated, so do home
furnishings.
