English Culmination 2022

I. RATIONALE:
Pursuant to the Memorandum DM-CI-2022-289 dubbed as 2022
PAMBANSANG BUWAN AT ARAW NG PAGBASA, Luzon National High School
held the 2022 Literacy and Advocacy campaign as part of the mandate of the
Department of Education with a theme “Basa Onse: Bawat Bata Bumabasa”.

II. OBJECTIVES:
The activity aims to:
 create awareness among the learning community valuing reading;
 advocate reading programs and projects to the school community; and
 stage various enjoyable activities for the learners.

III. PARTICIPANTS:
The School Principal I, Agnes A. Arquiza of Luzon National High School and
the Junior and Senior High School Teachers with the students, parents and
stakeholders who actively participated in this event.

IV. HIGHLIGHTS:

A. Kick Off
Luzon National High School joins the national kick-off on November 7,
2022 culminating it through the nationwide synchronized reading
spearheaded by our Principal I, Agnes A. Arquiza. The conduct of the 2022
Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa with the theme “Basa Onse:
Bawat Bata Bumabasa” were supported and facilitated by the teachers of
the school serving as the Reading Ambassadors in the classroom.

B. Culminating Activities
Luzon National High School did a blast on November 29, 2022 for this
whole day culmination hosted by Epefanio C. Monghit Jr. and Niñ a
Hannah Trixia D. Bajo. The school invited guests to judge and rate the
students’ performances as follows:

AM Activities:
1. Parade of Book Characters – Students in different book character by
grade level and by section parades on the activity center showcasing
their chosen character.

2. Spoken Poetry – with one representative per grade level the student
will compose an original poetry following the theme.
3. Broadcasting Presentation (chosen students presented broadcasting
to promote and let the other students witness how it is done.)
4. Song Solo - with one representative per grade level the students
performed their chosen song.

PM Activities:
1. Character Portrayal – 2 (two) representative per grade level are
chosen to portray their specific characters:
Grade 7-Villains
Grade 8-Marvels
Grade 9-Greek Mythology
Grade 10-Anime
Grade 11-Pinoy Superheroes
Grade 12-Disney
2. Speech Choir – this is judged and rated by different categories,
Category A (Grades 7-9) and Category B (Grades 10-12)

Judges: Lornille Faith Angel Taypin-Dailey, Annie Murray Zapanta Javier and the
Chairman of the Board Sir France Rey Panugas.

The program started by singing the National Anthem followed by a prayer with the
introduction of the judges as well as reading the different activities mechanics and
criteria, Giving of Award, Prizes and Certificates. For this successful activity took its
place and closing the day with a remark from our Teacher III Reading Coordinator,
Geraldine B. Bitoon.
