Master Teachers. The school has eighteen (18) hardworking teachers and
four hundred nineteen (419) strong learners amidst this pandemic. The
school campus has eighteen (18) instructional rooms wherein they have free
internet access per room, office room, canteen, computer room, library,
home economics (h.e) room, and two (2) clinic rooms. They also have
spacious backyard, a playground where the kids can play, the school have
also handwashing area and have access in closed-circuit television (cctv) for
the security of the school. Since its pandemic, the classroom is not well
organized because they have no face-to-face class, so I interviewed my
cooperating teacher. According to her, primary classrooms have wider space
than intermediate ones. They have more visual instructional designs like
murals, charts, illustrations, etc. Desks and lower chairs are being used by
primary while higher armchairs are for the intermediate ones. Blackboards
for primary have linings while none for intermediate. Colorful
painting/designs are evident in primary while simple/plain for intermediate.

attentively greeting their teacher. Learners also well prepared for their
online class. They are also attentively answer the question of their teacher.
As go on the class, I am very amaze because the learners read very well not
like some other learners of other school. Amidst this pandemic, I can see the
learners of this school has the eager to learn even though there are many
troubles for having their online class because of the unstable internet
connection but in the end, they have successfully finished their class on what

that her learners isn’t get bored. To start the class, teacher Hermano conduct
a warm prayer to have faith and be thankful for this day behind this
pandemic. Teacher Hermano also set her online classroom rules to be able to
prevent some distraction while she is on discussing the lesson. She also uses
learner’s mentally strategy to present a new lesson. I can also see the content
of her lesson connects into real life situation. As go on the class, teacher
Hermano delivered her class discussion in a systematic way, gives more
example, and gives appreciation to the answer of her learner’s. For their
assessment, teacher Hermano give them assessment good for 5 minutes to be
able to enhance their mentality through solving problems. After that they
checked it their answers, she also asked her learners what scores they get
during their assessment to determine if they understand the lesson. She asked
also if there are some clarifications so that she can explain it to her learners.
In summary of this observation, teacher Hermano very well delivered her
lesson. She also gives appreciation to the parents of her learner’s for guiding
their children for their online class. The online class are so interesting, and
the learners have fun because of the strategy she used.

teaching or delivery of the must be interactively or lively. primary learners
have shorter attention span that’s why they must be given plenty of
interactive activities for them be focused and not be bored. And lastly,
mastery is the key. Since they are still in the primary, learning and mastering
the basis is a must. They need to assure that everybody must know the
fundamentals like recognizing the alphabet, reading, writing in cursive
forms, memorizing multiplication table, etc. These skills are very useful for
them to cope with the lesson when they will reach intermediate.

Aspects to Observe Observation
Searching for Instructional  Every teacher needs supplies and resources to have a successful classroom. In the
Materials classroom, teachers have a variety of options in the techniques and tools they use
to teach each topic. On January 07, 2022, we observe the class of teacher
Rigonan, a grade 6 teacher who conduct an online class in the subject of Science.
In this episode we observe the instructional materials that she used or applied in
her demo teaching. Since its pandemic, we use digital or modern technology
wherein she used kahoot, quizizz, google form, messenger, and PowerPoint
presentation to deliver her lesson. Kahoot is a learning tool that engages and
activates learners by testing their knowledge, reinforcing key concepts, and
assisting them in remembering what they've learned. It also allows teachers to
encourage more class discussion and learner engagement. Quizizz is an online
classroom assessment platform that allows teachers and learners to create and use
quizzes created by one another. This is beneficial to learners because it allows
them to immediately see what they did wrong, what they need to work on, and
how they can improve. Google Forms is a free online application that may be
used in the classroom to promote learners’ involvement, engagement, and
evaluation. It is also user-friendly, simple to administrate, and assists teachers in
saving paper and time when grading assignments. They used messenger to
communicate their learners as well as it served as for announcement or school
purposes. By allowing the structuring of a presentation for learners learning,
PowerPoint may be an excellent tool for presenting material in the classroom as
well as providing encouragement and support to staff. Those were the
instructional resources she utilized, and she did a fantastic job presenting her
demo teaching because she is quite skilled with ICT tools. These electronic
materials are easily updated and provide learners with a greater level of
accessibility.
Preparing Instructional  If we say Instructional Materials are primarily a medium for delivery of content;
Materials
the teacher reiterates and builds on the content. Since its pandemic there is no
face-to-face class only the online class because the learners are not able to go
outside their houses. Based on the situation, the teachers of Sarrat North Central
School they used the electronic materials wherein the PowerPoint presentation.
For preparing those materials are not easy to prepare, it takes time to finish the
presentation. Since they usually used the traditional materials to present their
lesson to their learners. In traditional materials, create such things like a puppet,

Assessing Learners’ Performance  The teachers of Sarrat North Central School, assess their learners by answering
the task or activities in their modules, giving summative text with table of
specification to meet the objectives and performance test with rubrics. They also
assess their learners by conducting online class, answering, or participating in
class. In conclusion, the assessments can help the teachers to create the
meaningful learning experience to their learners. The teachers can motivate their
learners to improve their performances. This valuable information can be used to
improve teaching and learning process. The important part the application of the
assessment is the teacher willingness to work hard to apply the assessment which
can appropriate to assess their learners’ performance.
Assisting in Establishing Routines  Teaching learners how to interact online helps ensure a good experience for both
learners and teachers. Teachers know the value of establishing class routines.
Good routines set the foundation for a productive year, make life easier for
learners and teachers, save time and improve learning. In this school they set
their online routines by preparing for class, the teachers provide students with
classroom or meeting codes, usernames, and password as early as possible and
used the usernames for as many applications as possible. Communicating with
parents or guardians, parent communication is also important. Email, phone, text
is all appropriate. It’s a good idea to provide parents access information digitally
and in hard copy. Teachers are strategic in recommending supplementary
learning materials for the learners. Coming to class, encourage the learners to
arrive about five to 10 minutes before class begins so that they have time to
connect to the internet and verify that video and audio are working. The learners
learning online should know how to turn microphones and cameras on or off as
directed. Teach learners how they should make their presence known.
Participating in class, teachers set expectations for both synchronous and
asynchronous participation to be able to minimize distraction for having their
online class and the apps they used for their online class is the Google-meet. It’s
important to set rules about being kind, respectful especially in an online setting.

only show what learners have learned but also provides vital information as to
the effectiveness of a lesson, unit, or curriculum. Assessment techniques must be
used to determine student knowledge. Involving learners in the assessment
process helps them see how their knowledge has progressed and provides
motivation and pride to push them on their journey of obtaining knowledge.
Classroom assessments can be formative or summative. At the beginning of a
class, it would be useful to give students a quiz that would interpret each learners
favored learning style. It is important to assess learners frequently and with a
variety of techniques to track progress. Formative assessments give the evidence
of learners understanding. Summative assessments are given at the end of a topic
and show whether they have learned the content. Summative assessments tend to
be a more substantial product. The created product should reflect analysis,
evaluation, and synthesis of the information. In this case, they will create a
rubric that clearly shows the learner what is expected. All assessments must be
reliable and valid. The questions or activities used in an assessment must relate to
the content that has been taught. They apply differentiation and come out with
different types of assessment that cater for different learner.

My Reflection
When I first entered Sarrat North Central School, I was unsure of how I would fit into world of education as a teacher. After my
observation was done, I changed my view of this and knew that I would make a great teacher. I was able to learn many different things
that will be helpful to me when I get hired as an educator someday. Although I will have to face many challenges in the field, I possess
many of the strength it takes to be a good teacher. There were many times during the week that gave me a great idea of how that
everyday life of a teacher would go. Overall, it was a great experience for me, and I learned a lot about myself and the school whom I
assigned.

During my time in the observation, I felt very uncomfortable being around with the learners. As a teacher it is very important to
feel comfortable in your work environment because if you don’t it will be nearly impossible for you to your job in a successful manner.
It was a great experience being around the learners and being able to help them, which is one of the main reasons for why I want to
become involved in the profession. The classroom environment was a very inconsistent one and usually depended on how the learners
acted. If the learners were well behaved it was very positive and constructive, but if the learners were acting up it was exactly the
opposite. Overall, the classroom environment was set up to give each learners the best possible chance they had to succeed. Throughout
my observation there were many interactions between the learners and teacher, either being positive, or negative. During a lesson when
all the learners were able to stay engaged the interactions would be positive. The teacher would ask questions during the lectures and as
the learners were able to answer the questions correctly, or at least try, the relationship was remained positive.

I believe that I will face many challenges as I enter the profession of teaching, but who wouldn’t with a job that requires
working with others. To face those challenges, strength of mine would be me being a great leader and able to direct his or her learners in
the right decision. Being a good speaker will also help in my teaching because most of my job will consist of me communicating with
my students. Lastly, my creativity will be a good strength to have as a teacher making every day different for my learners.

I have learned many different key teaching components throughout my observation. Whether it be how to run a classroom, or setting up
a positive classroom environment, I now know a lot more than I did. Someday when I do reach my goal of becoming a teacher, I hope to
apply some of the things I have learned from experience to create successful classroom and environment.

To my cooperating teachers, school principal and teachers of Sarrat North Central School, I am warmly thanking you for
mentoring me and taking me on as a student teacher. Thank you so much for providing me with this wonderful opportunity. It was a truly
a great experience for me. I have learned such a great deal about teaching during my time with you. You are an outstanding teacher. The
learners love you for innovative with your teaching styles. I can’t thank you enough for giving me your valuable time and guidance. This
experience has made me quite confident about engaging with learners in best possible ways.
