struggles of online courses.

Other coping methods include stepping back

from online socials, only doing the bare minimum required, and pushing

to interact with others. Having a rich understanding of how students

handle their anxiety during online learning may be beneficial towards

finding ways to support the learners (Hilliard et al., 2020).

Wellness Strategies for Student Support Service Providers (2020)

states that in order to effectively support the students during difficult

times school administrators and students alike must do the following: (1)

understand current effects of stress and take a self-assessment tool, (2)

limit being exposed to current news and focus on things one has control

on, and (4) write a weekly self-care plan. Student support services should

also be able to: (1) frequently check in with their students, (2) assist

students in understanding self

management, model compassion, and receptivity, (3) encourage others to

build resilience and manage their stress proactively, (4) actively listen

and show empathy, and (5) show a sense of community by using social

media.

Tomé et al. (2021) also encourages all academic institutions to

implement school based interventions programs such as seminars,

workshops, information sessions for the students’ mental health which

consists of long-term procedures, and monitoring as well as family

participation. An example of school-based interventions which are

conducted in a classroom was called “Finding Space”. The study was

composed of interactive strategies conducted by psychologists and

psychology students. With participants of 20-25 students and have

specific goals in each 90-minute session.
