Classification of Quotas 1. AUTONOMOUS OR UNILATERAL IMPORT QUOTA - These are quotas which are fixed by the independent action of a country without prior negotiation or consultation with foreign governments whose products are affected. Kinds of Autonomous or unilateral quota: A. Global quota - The imposing government allows the importation of goods placed under the quota from any country in the world provided that the total amount of all such goods does not exceed the stipulated quota. B. Allocated quota - The total amount of all goods placed is fixed and divided in advance either among specified supplying countries or among specified domestic importers.
