    1. Why, despite the introduction of foreign
    expressions, the native elements (indigenous
    arts) remained? Give examples.
    The indigenous arts in the Philippines have been
    carefully conserved. It is regarded as a
    priceless relic from the past that will never be
    forgotten. So Even if the foreign expression
    were introduced the native element still
    remained because of the deep meaning that it
    holds to everyone. Indigenous visual arts serve
    as a platform for cultural expression and a
    means of preserving and transmitting culture. It
    somehow reflect on how we express ourselves in
    the past.
    The Burik, a tattoo with a traditional Filipino
    motif, is an example of art that is still
    present. Despite the numerous strange concepts
    that have been brought to us, we still recognize
    the worth and allure of it. Each tattoo design
    has a significant meaning; some of them depict
    bravery, beauty, social position, etc.
