SCHOOLS DIVISION OF BATANGAS
Have you ever thought perform mensuration and calculation that need it into you’re
daily life? you will learn more about understanding of concepts and underlying principles in
performing measurements and calculations. A unit of measurements of electrical current
flow. It is very important to know of the learners in order to be guided as well as to be
safe/secure to their works. You will also have some activities that will align to the
competencies with those learners who practice their career path. Moreover, this module
will encourage you to think about and practice the course of Computer Systems Servicing
that will fit to quality standard of the industry as well as the development of skills and
knowledge being a Computer Technician, data encoder, graphic designer, IT Sales clerk,
and for continuing studies in college you might being an Electrical Computer Engineering,
Software and Network Engineering, etc.

DAY 1
D.1 INTRODUCTION
D.2 DEVELOPMENT
a. What I know?
Activity 2: Solve this problem
1. How many mm are there in 5.78 m?
2. How many cm are there in 5.23 m?
3. How many m are there in 115.5 km?
4. How many kg are there in 8.32 tonnes?
5. In 25, 000 sq m, find the hectares of this.
6. In 4sq m, how many yard are there?
7. In 8hectares, how many acres?
8. How many ml are there in six liters?
Now, after you answered all this questions in your portfolio/activity sheets. You may
shares your answered to your classmates by chat, text, messenger or other social media
apps that be available to communicate them. You may be collaborates your ideas/insights
that will practice your knowledge and engaging the exciting topics. If you will have a
question please don’t hesitate to reach or contact your subject teacher.
b. What’s in?
WHAT IS MENSURATION
In the broadest sense, mensuration is all about the process of measurement.
Mensuration is based on the use of algebraic equations and geometric calculations to
provide measurement data regarding the width, depth and volume of a given object or
group of objects. While the measurement results obtained by the use of mensuration are
estimates rather than actual physical measurements, the calculations are usually
considered very accurate.
Mensuration is often based on making use of a model or base object that serves as
the standard for making the calculations. From that point, advanced mathematics is
employed to project measurements of length, width, and weight associated with like items.
The end result is data that can help to make the best use of resources available today
while still planning responsibly for the future.
Activity 3
Regarding to the previous module discussing the lesson about the Performing
Mensuration and Caculation Learning Objective 1. Select appropriate measuring
instrument.
Convert the following problem. Write your answer in your activity sheet..
1m yard
1kw watts
12’ feet
3 feet yard
3 tons kg
c. What is It?
Direction: Units and Measuring
Different units can be used to measure the same quantities. It is important to use
sensible units. Read, analyse and understand some important units are listed in the
attached information sheet about “Carry out measurements and calculation”.
DAY 3
D3. ENGAGEMENT
a. What’s more?
Activity 4:
Identify the pictures shows below write the correct answer in your activity sheet. Write
the correct usage of its.
Conversion of Units
It is useful to be aware of both metric and imperial units and to be able to convert
between them.
Exercises
1. Edgar is measured. His height is 5 feet and 7 inches.
Find his height in:
a. inches b. centimeters c. meters d. kilometre
Solution.
(a) There are 12 inches in one foot, so
Edgar’s height = 5 x 12 + 7
= 60 + 7
= 67 inches
(b) 1 inch is about 2.5 cm,
so
Edgar’s height = 68 x 2.5
= 170 cm
c) 1 meter = 100 cm, so
Edgar’s height = 1.7 m
Solution
3. Javel weigths 12 stone and 8 pounds. Find Javel's weight in:
(a) pounds,
(b) kg.
Solution
1 inch = 2.5 cm
95/2.5 = 38, so the line is about 38 inches long
Task A
Find the circumference and area of a circle
Solution
Task B
Find the radius of a circle.
Solution.
Task C
Find the area of the door shown in the diagram
The top part of the door is a semicircle.
Solution.
LET’S DO THIS
1. A ball bearing has mass 0.44 pounds
1 kg = 2.2 pounds
(a) Calculate the mass When the mass is measured in kg and the volume is measured
in cm3, what are the units of the density? of the ball bearing in kilograms
2. When the mass is measured in kg and the volume is measured in cm3, what are
the units of the density?
3. A recipe for a cake for four people uses
4 eggs
8 ounces sugar
14 ounces flour
¼ pint milk 16 ounces = 1 pound
James finds a 500 g bag of flour in the cupboard.
Will he have enough flour for this recipe?
Clearly explain your reasoning
DAY 4
D4. ASSIMILATION
a. What I have Learned?
Activity 7: Directions: Read and understand carefully. Fill in the blanks and select
the answer provided inside the oval. Write your answer in your activity sheet.
