Part 1.
1. Do you have a large or small family? I used to live in an extended fml having

7 ppl. But when my brother got married and settled down, he no longer
lives in the same roof with me. Now I live with my parents.
2. How much time do you spend with your family? After school, I spend almost my
time stay at home with my fml
3. What do you like to do together as a family?
What I like to do with my fml the most is having dinner together. Cause after a
long and tiring day, dinner is when my fml have time sit together and talk about
what had happened with us during the day, there is some good news or bad
news, we all share together.

Part 2.
Describe the person in your family who you most admire.

You should say:

 what their relationship is to you

 what they have done in their life
 what they do now
 and explain why you admire them so much

who do I admire the most? It seems like a difficult question to me, but if I must choose
someone, I will say it is my elder brother. To me, he is a big brother because he’s 13
years older than me. He has gone to work to help my parent since he was 15 years old
because my parent can’t afford to his studying. My brother set up his own business at
his 22 and now he gets many success. This is the reason why I admire my brother. He
had a poor and hard youth, but he never gives up, he always tries his best to face and
overcome difficulties and challenges. Although I and my brother don’t see eye to eye all
the time, we have our ups and downs, of course, whenever I was in trouble, he always
gives me many helpful advice. If it hadn’t been for his help, I couldn’t deal with problems
by my self.

Part 3.
1. In what ways have families in your country changed in recent years?

In Vietnamese families, what has changed in recent years is the household size. I mean,
in the past most vnese ppl live in an extended fml. Now, because of the urbanization
and modernization, more and more adult ppl lives in nuclear family in the city. They
work at officer or industrial zone. Their parents and grandparents live in countryside.

2. Should husbands and wives have different roles within the family? Why (not)?

I think that the husbands and wives have different things do in a family, so it is
necessary for them to have different roles in the fml. To run the family, both of
them should share the responsibilities and the fml burdens. For instance, men
are physically stronger than women, thereby husbands will handle some heavy
work like fixing car or house. Meanwhile women are more careful and cautious,
they can do many other works. In modern society, while men are no longer the
sole breadwinner, women are really talented and their roles in fml are more and
more important.
