Welcome back to school. We hope everyone had a wonderful break and enjoyed time with family and friends. I would like to
introduce myself. My name is Kristi Knox and I am the new teacher for Head Start. I am excited to be working with
you and your children. I have taught for 24 years in Pre-K through Second Grade. I attended the University of
Kansas and earned my Bachelors Degree in Education and my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I
have two children who are 24 and 21 and they are my pride and joy. As a parent and teacher, my goal is to set the
foundation for each student to become lifelong learners. I think it is important to communicate, listen, collaborate,
have patience, be creative, be positive, be kind, and be enthusiastic. I love this quote and it reflects my feelings
about engaging with students and families. “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart”. I look
forward to a wonderful semester!
