Good day!

Section 16 of R.A 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code mandates every
local government unit to exercise power for the promotion of the general welfare of its
constituents including but not limited to the maintenance of peace and order. The Barangay
Local Government of Puro, in compliance with the law, have laid out several programs that
aims for the improvement and maintenance of peace and order in the barangay. Among these
programs is the installation of Streetlights all over the barangay.

However, the connection of installed streetlights in front of the ComRel Office from
MASELCO have been damaged for more than 6 months already and are not yet repaired by the
power generation cooperative.

In line with this, may I request your office to provide for the electricity on the fourteen
(14) streetlights outside the ComRel Office to deter criminality and improve the peace and order
in the area.
