QUESTIONS:

1. What distance can a car moving at 40 km/hr cover in 30 minutes?

1 hour
30 minutes x = 0.5 hour
60 minutes

km
d = 40 x 0.5 hr
hr

d = 20 km

2. An object moving at 17.75 m/s with a constant acceleration covers a distance of 90m in
17.8 sec.

Given:
V = 17.75 m/s
d = 90 m
t = 17.8s

a. What will be its velocity after covering 90m?

3. A bus moving with a constant acceleration covers the distance between two stops 82m
apart in 6.3 sec. Its speed as it passes the second stop is 15.4m/sec.

Given:
d = 82m
t = 6.3s
m
V f = 15.4
s

a. What is its speed as it is passes by the first stop?

c. How much farther will it go if it travels 1.6 sec. more?

15.4−10.63 1 2
a= d = V 0 t+ + a t

a = 0.6038 d = ( 10.63 ) ¿) + ( 0.6038 ) ¿
s 2
d = 102.82 m

CONCLUSION:

Velocity is calculated by dividing the distance traveled by the time it takes to get there.
So basically, the more speed you have, the greater your velocity, the more distance you can
travel.
