The world's consumption of fashion is huge. So, the fashion industry is

also developing strongly. In my opinion, the fashion industry is both and
harmful and beneficial to society and the environment. 
Firstly, the fashion industry is beneficial. Fashion style will create a
personal mark for each person. We need fashion industry to feel happy when
shopping, reduce stress. At the same time, the fashion industry helps the
economy develop It also creates a large number of jobs for people, helping
people earn extra income. 
The harm of fashion industry are clear. It has a disastrous impact on the
environment. The environmental damage is increasing as the fashion industry
grows. Untreated wastewaters from factories are dumped into the rivers. This is
extremely harmful for the aquatic life and people who are living by rivers
banks. The contamination also reaches the sea and eventually spreads around
the globe. The fashion industry also generates a large amount of waste.
Especially with the fast fashion industry, in a short period of time, a lot of
outdated clothes have been released into the environment.
Conclusion, fashion industry is both and harmful and benefitcial to society
and the environment. We need to take action to reduce its harmful effects, and
at the same time have reasonable policies for it to develop sustainably.
