In accordance with the authority given to me as the CEO I appoint you as follows:

DUTIES

1. As the assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, you shall be the accountable person, responsible to
provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment that is without risk to employees and
others.
2. Ensure proper control of health and safety duties within the organization
3. Provide and maintain a safe, risk-free and healthy work environment for employees
4. Delegate when needed any related duties and responsibilities to any person under his control, but
not accountability
5. Be responsible for the management of occupational health and safety matters
6. Familiarize and comply with health and safety statutory requirements stipulated by the
Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
7. Allocate necessary resources required to ensure a Safe work environment for all employees and
stakeholders
8. Take overall responsibility and accountability for the prevention of work-related injury and ill
health, as well as the provision of safe and healthy workplaces and activities
9. Ensure that the OH&S policy and related OH&S objectives are established and are compatible
with the strategic direction of the organization
10. Ensure the integration of the OH&S management system requirements into the organization’s
business processes
11. Ensure that the resources needed to establish, implement, maintain and improve the OH&S
management system are available
12. Communicate the importance of effective OH&S management and of conforming to the OH&S
management system requirements
13. Ensure that the OH&S management system achieves its intended outcome(s)

14. Direct and support persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the OH&S management system

15. Ensure and promoting continual improvement

16. Support other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas
of responsibility

17. Develop, lead and promote a culture in the organization that supports the intended outcomes of the
OH&S management system

18. Protect workers from reprisals when reporting incidents, hazards, risks and opportunities

19. Ensure the organization establishes and implements a process(es) for consultation and
participation of workers

20. Support the establishment and functioning of health and safety committees,

GENERAL
You acknowledge that you are sufficiently trained, qualified and skilled to carry out your
responsibilities as set out in this letter of appointment and as per the legislative requirements you
have received with this appointment. In the event that you require any further training, information or
instruction, you are required to request such training, information or instructions immediately.

You acknowledge that you have been provided with the necessary means to carry out your
responsibilities as set out in this letter. This letter of appointment cancels and supersedes all
previous letter of appointment.
