ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this assignment is to provide students’ opportunities to identify and examine
definition and terms and conditions of work contract and how it can be changed. Also,
differentiate between employer and employee and between work contract and contract of work.
Finally, discuss the implications of work contract.

REQUIREMENT:
You are required to answer 2 parts and this assignment should be completed individually.

PART 1

Based on different sources of information which may include literature review and interview,
identify the definition and terms and conditions of work contract in companies. Discuss how
changes in work contracts occur in companies. The report of the findings should contain the
following sections:

a. Introduction
Based on Malaysian labour acts, define and elaborate what is work contract.
(10 marks)

b. Findings
Explain the components of the terms and conditions of a work contract. Provide
examples of a work contract.
(10 marks)

c. Discussion and Conclusion


Discuss how a work contract can be changed and when does the term of employment
expired.

(10 marks)

Differentiate between employer and employee. Also, distinguish between work contract and
contract of work.

a. Introduction
Define and elaborate employer and employee in relation to Malaysian labour acts. Why is
it important to define and distinguish them?

Differentiate between work contract and contract of work from literature review and
interview.

c. Discussion and Conclusion


Briefly discuss the phenomenon of the existence of the work contract and its implication.
