WORKPLACE HAZARDS AND MITIGATION

The following are the “HIGH RISK” and common hazards encountered
Mitigation / Control Measures
in the workplace:

 Use of fall protection – full body harness;

1. Fall from working at heights
 Installation of adequate access platform, working platform & railing

 No simultaneous working below work at heights areas;

 Installation of barricades to control unauthorized entry inside working
2. Falling objects areas;
 Secure loose material and tools while working at heights;
 Use of PPE – hard hat

 Install signages to aware personnel of unauthorized entry to working

area;
3. Struck by working heavy equipment
 Provision for spotters (if required);
 Avoid working near heavy equipment.

 Isolation / barrication of temporary power connections;

4. Electrocution (temporary power connections & welding works)  Use of proper power distribution / connection boards & extension
cables;

 Provision for standby fire extinguisher;

5. Fire (from welding / hot works and combustible materials)  Proper housekeeping of combustible materials;
 Use of fire blanket, if required
The following are the “HIGH RISK” and common hazards encountered in
Mitigation / Control Measures
the workplace:

 Use of required PPE’s – safety gloves, long sleeve / pants uniform /

6. Hand / Arms / Foot / Leg injuries (struck by & against / caught in-
safety shoes;
between from normal working condition)
 Use of proper tools / equipment

7. Eye injury (struck by flying / foreign objects)  Use of PPE’s – eye protection

 Do not overload scaffolds / working platform;

8. Collapse of scaffolds / working platform
 Check scaffolds / working platform prior to use.

 Install proper / adequate access (ingress / egress);

9. Collapse of excavation
 Check excavation dimension – benching as required

 Installation of safety signages;

 Routinary scheduling of worker to limit exposure time

 Use of mechanical lifting tools;

12. Ergonomics hazards (improper manual lifting / position while
 Lifting by group / assistance;
working)
 Avoid working in constant body position
