Activity 1: 21st Century

Twenty-first century is inevitably here, there are lot of changes, development, and re-
engineering of systems in the different fields of this generation to thrive. It is indeed an
information age. Technology allows for 24/7 access to information, constant social interaction,
and easily created and shared digital content. In this setting, educators can leverage technology to
create an engaging and personalized environment to meet the emerging educational needs of this
generation. No longer does learning have to be one-size-fits-all or confined to the classroom. The
opportunities afforded by technology should be used to re-imagine 21st-century education,
focusing on preparing students to be learners for life. Most of the changes the field of
EDUCATION have focused in teaching and learning. One of the adjustments to be done in
education system by the teachers are , to prepare and cater the needs of 21 st century learner.
Success in the 21st century requires knowing how to learn. Students today will likely have
several careers in their lifetime. They must develop strong critical thinking and interpersonal
communication skills in order to be successful in an increasingly fluid, interconnected, and
complex world.
Life skills (FLIPS), for me, it is the skills that I need to improve and develop to myself.
Since it’s difficult for me to do these life skills, specifically in Leadership, Initiative and
Productivity. I can say that because I’m not used to do things multi-tasking. I usually do my
things whenever I just want to. And I know it sounds bad , and unskilled. That’s why for me,
these Life skills are the most important and I must need to develop and improve.
I can acquire these skills by; 1) knowing my priorities, since this time I feel uncertain
with my priorities in life. 2) manage my time, honestly I am so bad in managing my time since
this pandemic happened.I feel unmotivated all the time and exhausted. And lastly, 3) I must not
waste time and should know the importance of learning in every little things. These are the
things I must do because we all know that among the three 21 st century skills, Life skills all
pertains our personal life as well as in professional setting. And I believe that if I would able to
master / improved these Life skills it would be a big help to my future career. And possibly would
lead my life to success.
Therefore, Students who can think critically and creatively, collaborate with others, and
communicate clearly are not only better prepared for a successful career, but also for a happier,
healthier life. I agree with this, “ Your way is not always the best way. You have to know and
admit when you’re wrong. That’s struggle for a lot of students, especially in an age when you can
know any bit of information at the drop of a hat. And it is true that Learning is a practice that lasts
a lifetime.
Activity 2

A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN COMPUTER HARDWARE SERVICING

I – OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

1. Identify internal and external computer hardware parts.

2. Discuss the purpose of each hardware part.
3. Distinguish between computer hardware and software.

II – SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: COMPONENTS OF A SYSTEM UNIT

References: Computer Hardware Servicing Module

Materials:

 LCD Projector
 Computer
 Jigsaw puzzle
 Hard copies of what is computer hardware definition, components, and examples
 Video presentation

III – LEARNING STRATEGIES

TEACHERS ACTIVITY LEARNERS ACTIVITY

A. Classroom Routine
Opening Prayer Our father who are in heaven……..
(The teacher will call one student to lead the
Prayer)

Good Morning Class! Good Morning Ma’am!

Please be seated. Thank You Ma’am.

Who are absent today? There’s no absent Ma’am.

Review/Recall
Class, last meeting we’ve discussed the Computer is a data processing
machine…
meaning of personal computer. Anyone from
the class who can give me the summary of what
we’ve discussed?
Ok! Very good!

Energizer/ Drill
Jigsaw Puzzle

Class I have here a scrambled pictures. All

You have to do is to arrange them into its correct
form. I will group you into three groups. You
are given five minutes to do the activity. The first
group who can solve the puzzle will be given
a reward.
Are you ready? Yes Ma’am
B. ACTIVITY
Class do you have any idea about the
components of a system unit?

Kindly Answer the Pre – Test.

PRE – TEST
Direction: Match the pictures in column A
With its corresponding name in column B.
Column A Column B

1.

a. Adapter

2.

b. motherboard
3.

c. primary storage

4.

d. system unit

5.

e. power supply unit

6.

f. central processing unit

7.
g. expansion bus

Class let us check the result of your pre – test.

C. ANALYSIS

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

There are different components of a system unit.

Do you know what’s in the picture?

System unit – the main part of a microcomputer,

sometimes called chassis.

You are correct! Very Good!

How about this picture?

Motherboard/ Mainboard/ System Board- the main

circuit board of a computer. It contains all the circuits and
components that run the computer.

That’s right!
How about this picture?

CPU (Central Processing Unit) – the processor is the

main “brain or heart” of a computer system.it performs all
of the instructions and calculations that are needed and
manages the flow of information through a computer.

You are correct!

How about this one?

Primary Storage- (internal storage, main memory or

memory) is the computer’s working storage space that
holds data, instructions for processing and processed
data(information) waiting to be sent to secondary storage.
Physically, primary storage is a collection of RAM chips.

Yes! That’s correct!

How about this?

Expansion Bus – a bus is a data pathway between several

hardware components inside or outside a computer. It does
not only connect the parts of the CPU to each other, but
also links the CPU with other important hardware.

That’s correct!

How about this?

Adapters – printed – circuit boards (also called interface

cards) that enable the computer to use a peripheral device
for which it does not have the necessary connections or
circuit boards. They are often used to permit upgrading to a
new different hardware.

You are correct!

How about this?
Power Supply Unit (PSU) – installed in the back corner of
the PC case, next to the motherboard. It converts 120vac
(standard house power) into Dc voltages that are used by
other components in the PC.

Very Good!

D.Abstraction / Generalization

Now that you know the basic parts of a system unit

can you name one and give its function?

System Unit – is the main part of a microcomputer,

sometimes called the chassis.
That’s right.
Power Supply Unit (PSU) – installed in the back
corner of the PC case, next to the motherboard. It
converts 120vac (standard house power) into Dc

D.Application

The teacher will let the students identify the components of a system unit and give their
corresponding functions.
