(HUMSS)

My chosen academic strand is HUMSS or The Humanities and Social Sciences. This
strand focuses on the study of human behavior and societal changes, and analysis of arts, culture,
literature, and politics. It involves political science, anthropology, linguistics, psychology, and
communication. It is true that the HUMMS means less math and less numbers, this does not
mean that this strand is ‘easier’ than other strands. Humanities are those disciplines that
investigate the human condition, using primarily analytical, critical, or speculative methods. The
social sciences are fields of study that may involve more empirical methods to consider society
and human behavior, including anthropology, education, linguistics, political science and
international relations, sociology, geography, law and psychology. This strand focuses on
improving your communication skills.

The HUMMS strand is designed for those who wonder what is on the other side of the
wall. In other words, you are ready to take on the world and talk to a lot of people. This is for
those who are considering taking up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and
other social science-related courses in college. This strand it will help to boost your confidence
and show your hidden talents. Humanist is the future servant of our country. It is not about what
you choose, it’s about your willingness and dedication to pursue it. Humanist is good in
arguments because in this strand there are non-stop debates you will encounter. Humanities and
Social Science in this strand may also open your eyes to what is happening to our society. That is
why I choose this strand because I dedicate myself to help and I want to serve our country.
People who choose this strand are spiring to become the future shapers of this nation that will
build progress and deal with a lot of life.

One of the advantages of taking this strand is that, your strand is that your speaking skills
will enhance and this strand you can build and boost your self-confidence. Many of the teenagers
are lack in communication and become introvert. In this strand will help you to communicate and
build your confidence. In HUMSS strand there are many activities that will help you to be more
active and communicate to others. HUMSS strand revolves around improving the students
reading, writing ang speaking skills. As a HUMSS student I will experience many struggles and
barriers but still I will choose to pursue and continue. This strand will help me to find my hidden
talent like reporting, debate or research defense and acting. These advantages will help me to
become more competitive to finish the career that I’ve chosen to pursue.

I will continue to pursue and finish this strand because in this strand there’s a lot of
exploration that I can encounter that will help me build a better or the best version of myself.
Even though we are in the middle of pandemic I can still enhance my skills from the academic
strand I chose with help of my family by making them my inspiration to excel from this
community or country we are in.
 Significance of Trends and Networks

The picture below shows that in the 21st century the new trends and networks can
provide efficiency in long distance learning or even face to face education. It enables us to think
critically and wisely even though we are under pressured situations. Armed with knowledge and
attitude of this subject molds an individual to be a competent and accurate part of society.
