Objectives of the Study

This study aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. To determine the levels of awareness of grade 10 students on the

implementing of the DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City Colleges
Central Campus,

2. To determine if the grade 10 students of Southern City Colleges

Central Campus are aware in the implementation of the DepEd Order No
49, and;

3. To fill the gap in the literature by highlighting the issues and

complexities involved.

INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Statements of the Problem

The study aims to find out the role of Social Media in the policy
implementation specifically the DepEd Order No. 49 to the Grade 10
students of Southern City Colleges Central Campus

This research also aims to provide the answers to the following

questions:

1. What is the role of Social Media in the Implementation of DepEd

Order No. 49 as perceived by the Grade 10 students?

2. To what extent is the level of awareness of the Grade 10

students towards DepEd No. 49

3. Is there a significant difference in the level of awareness when

the dada are grouped according to:

a. Socio-Economic Status;

b. Gender; and

c. Length of time spent on Social Media use; and

d. Preferred Social Media site?

Statements of the Hypothesis

There is no significant difference in the level of awareness of Grade

10 students when the data are grouped according to:

1. Socio-Economic Status;

2. Gender; and

3. Length of time spent on Social Media use; and

4. Preferred Social Media site?

Theoretical Framework
Scope and Delimitations of the Study

This study primarily focuses on the levels of awareness of Grade 10

students on the implementing of the DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City
Colleges Central Campus Academic Year 2022-2023. Therefore, the
respondents of this study are the Grade 10 students of the Southern City
Colleges Central Campus enrolled within said school year.

This research study will be conducted on the Southern City Colleges

Central Campus. The number of respondents from the curriculum will be
84 students, either male or female. This study limits its coverage on the
Grade 10 students only. The research method that will be used is
quantitative descriptive and will use survey in descriptive text instrument.
This study is expected to be completed within 2 months.

Significance of the Study

The result of the study will benefit to the following:

To the Students - The results of this study will help to inform

students about the levels of awareness of grade 10 students on the
implementing of the DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City Colleges
Central Campus.

To the Parents – This study will let the parents be aware of the
implementation of the DepEd Order No. 46 and parents can increase their
interaction and discussion with their children about their awareness.

To the Teachers- this study will benefit the teachers making them
aware about the implementation of the DepEd Order No. 46 which will let
them know that is illegal to form relationships with the students.

To the Administrators- The findings of this research will help

them to get in sights on the implementation of the DepEd Order No. 49,
whether it provides good motivation and contributes to the image of the
school so they can provide and improve their learning environment.

To the Future Researchers- this study will help the future

researchers with the same nature of study. It will help the future
researchers to have some references or ideas in the near future if they
are going to take a research with same topic or title.

Operational Definition of Terms

 DepEd Order No. 49- the problem of this study. About

teacher-student romantic relationship is illegal.
 Levels of awareness- what we want to know.
 Grade 10 students- the respondents of this study.
 Southern City Colleges Central Campus –the setting of
this study or where the study will be conducted.
 Quantitative descriptive – the research design for this
research study.
 Purposive sampling technique – the sampling technique
for this research study.

