STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION-

I feel pleasure to introduce myself as a Barun Kumar Parida. I am living at QR

No- H-111, Haltownship Sunabeda, Koraput PIN: 763002, Odisha, India. My
Passport number is P6856306. My father name is Trilochan Parida who is a
businessman by profession and mother name is Biswajita Parida who is also
running her successful business. My hobbies are reading books and listening
music. However, In my leisure time, I always prefer to read books. My
strengths are my attitude that I like to take challenges which I can do it. I am
good team player as well as a commendable ability to lead the team. During my
schooling education I was a leader of my football school team. My weakness is
that I cannot tolerate any leniency in work. My short term goal is to move
Canada for gaining the sophistication about the aspects of health care
administration and my long term objective is to grab the post of health care
administrator.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND-
I studied my secondary school education from Vyomayana Samstha Vidyalaya,
Koraput and scored a CGPA of 6.6 in the year 2015. In pursuit of further growth
and study enhancement, I relocated to Visakhapatnam, India to pursue my
senior secondary education in the year 2017 from Vikas Vidyaniketan,
Vishakhapatnam in the course of BiPC(Biology,Physics and Chemistry) as a
mainstream for me, and secured 62%.

This advancement and my personal interest towards the Biology and Anatomy
of Human body, kept me enthralled to pursue a course such as Physiotherapy,
Biomedical Engineering etc. Post pre-cursor checks and research and the
overgoing demand for the need of Physiotherapy, got my attention to pursue
Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy as my graduation from Lovely Professional
University. I completed my education in the year 2022. Having located from a
different geography and few hiccups during the initial days of my journey in the
university, I was a little overwhelmed and I was having difficulty in
understanding the course due to which my CGPA in the initial semesters was
less.

But as time passed on I focused and I started to improve my scores in the next
semesters of my course. I also participated in various extracurricular activities
in the university. I made a project on "Harmful effects of smoking on lungs with
my team in science exhibition". I also did a Capstone Project with my classmates
which was a case study titled – "Multimodal Manual therapy is a solution for
Osteoarthritis"

After I completed my education, I started to do my internship in physiotherapy

at Civil Hospital, Jalandhar.

During the internship, I improved my communication skills by communicating

with the patients and their attendants. I also improved my hands on skills,
strategic planning skills, leadership skills and team work with other
departments. It was during my internship, that I came across the challenges and
the aspects of hospital administration and management and I had a gross idea
about it and gave an IELTS exam and scored 8.5 in listening 7.0 in reading 7.0 in
speaking 6.0 in writing and scored overall 7.0 bands.

WHY STUDY CANADA OVER OTHER NATIONS

Undoubtedly, health care administration is available in my home

nation but as my country’s education standard puts too focus on theoretical
aspects rather than practical. So there is no chance to continue my further
study in India. As I have done the last course and internship so I have
experience their techniques which are not apt as per my plan. This is major
reason that I want to continue my study in other nation.

When I decided that I have to continue my further studies in foreign land at

that time I got confused between Canada, Australia, and U.S.A I gathered the
necessary knowledge with the help of internet and come to a conclusion that
Canada is one of the best options for my future studies as it is well
prestigious for its diploma courses and Australia is renowned from degree
holders and on the second hand, in U.S.A, GRE, GMAT tests are mandatory for
students to get the admission in their universities So I choose Canada. I found
Canada to be best as the facilities available in the Canada like innovative
research methods, excellent study and practical cognizance are far better
than other nations.

WHY CANADA?
Meanwhile I was doing my research for further higher education; I found out
that Canada is the most suitable country for my future endeavours, Canada is
a country of academic excellence with a lot of opportunities for research.
Along with, the fee of the college was in my budget, so it was very affordable.
The education system of Canada also focuses more on skill development.
Moreover, Canada is very safe and friendly for international students as well.
Canadian institutions consistently rank best among the world. It is the home
of many international students it will be a great
opportunity for me to meet different kind of people and learn about their
culture.

WHY HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION?

During my last months of training, as I underwent to some interviews, I
realized that my knowledge is not up to the mark as I lack in administrative
skills because my country’s education standard puts more emphasis on
theoretical portion not on practical part. So I decided to pursue my studies
from international university I feel choosing this course to explore my
administrative skills
which is pre-requisite for placing in a designing company. This course has
serves vocational education rather than theory.
I am going to do diploma in health care administration. My course will start
from 9th of January as this course is related to my previous studies as I
already get fundamental knowledge about health promotion and fitness,
health care principles and health care management and so on. With this
course I get a solid foundation in core of health care administration with a
balance of theory and practical knowledge. Moreover, I will further study the
following curriculum such as:
1. Communication for health care professionals
2. Ethics in health care management
3. Health care policy
4. Health care operations
5. Management of human resource in health care

Apart from that, During my internship I also got an opportunity to work with
the medical superintendent of the administrative office. At this time, I got a
chance to gain an experience in the field and came to know about a lot of
problems faced by the departments and patients which drew my interest in
this field. I felt that by doing this program I can gain some knowledge from a
more developed healthcare system such as Canada’s which I can apply in the
healthcare system of my country. Furthermore, this developed my interest in
healthcare administration course.

WHY CANADORE COLLEGE?

I chose Canadore College because of the opportunities and the facilities
provided to the international students by this college. North Bay has a very
suitable weather conditions to which I can adapt easily. The fee of the college
was very reasonable and affordable for me and the admission process was
hassle free. Canadore College also puts focus on the physical and mental
health of a student. They have put together all the information in a very simple
way on their website which helped me a lot during my admission process.
Moreover, with the help of internet I had checked the lab and classroom
facility which is updated and up to the mark. Moreover, it is close many
transportation links, cafes and restaurants so it will be very helpful for me.

FINANCIAL BACKGROUND-
As my parents are well educated so since my childhood, they had done
savings for my further education so this is the reason that I have paid my
one-year fees and GIC which amount CAD:16000 and GIC CAD: 10200 and
for my second year they have planned everything. My parents had
deposited the amount in form of fixed deposit. My father has two FD with
STATE BANK OF INDIA which amount is INR: 682571.00 and INR:
685182.00 and there are two other fixed Deposit on my mother’s name
which is INR: 1657499.00 and INR: 1674973.00. Moreover, we also have
different properties in India. Which market value is now INR: 29547000
moreover, my father also have saving of INR: 3896793.00 In his account
and mother’s account is also credited with INR: 3886422.00.My father and
mother account is credited with INR: 1560801.85 and INR: 1739590.39
respectively and amount of both account is overall INR: 3300392.24.

FUTURE CAREER-
After completing my degree in Healthcare administration, I will came back to
India and look forward to joining a job as a Program manager, Healthcare
Operations Manager, Training and Healthcare administrator or a clinical
coordinator. In India, there are many distinguished organisations which are
giving jobs in healthcare administration. I look forward to joining institutions
like- RBMI Group of institutions, India; National Health Systems Resource
Centre, New Delhi; Zenheal Wellness Private Ltd; Bengaluru; Clinton Health
Access Initiative, Inc; Amazon.com,Inc and many more esteemed institutions.

After gaining some years of experience in the field, I will look forward to join a
senior post in the field. With the experience I would gain, I would like to
improve and grow the company I will be in at that time. My education will
help me gain experience at an international level and utilize it in my country.

CONCLUSION
I have chosen Canada to learn in depth knowledge about health care
principles and will return to my home country to implement the skills and
knowledge that I shall learn in Canada further personal growth and my family
is enough capable to support me financially during my study and stay in
Canada.
