According to C.S. Lewis, people will accept anything with a scientific basis. People will
believe something even if it has no justification or supporting evidence as long as it is
presented as science.

People hunt for power; the majority wants to rule the entire world. The most outstanding
quality of modern science was its power. They believed science would enable us to
change our environment and usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.

C.S. Lewis believed that modern science is more dangerous than magic. For a reason,
magic can fail; magic does not work in the end, and people cannot use it to control the
world, whereas modern science has the potential to control the world.

Lewis became concerned about the rise of scientrocracy since science can be used to
manipulate people. Government and society claim to be founded on modern scientific

threat to the human person flourishing in science and technology? Why should
science be guided by an ethical basis that is not dictated by science itself? (20

Scientism is a threat to humans since it may be used for evil purposes like manipulating
people or attempting to control the world. It should be led by an ethical foundation to be
utilized appropriately and not to manipulate the world.
