1. Which of the above approaches for language arts teaching do you think makes the least sense?
Explain your answer.
All approaches to teaching language arts are crucial, but in my opinion, the Situational
Approach makes the least sense given that has disadvantages. Having said that, it can be
challenging to identify materials that are appropriate for the learner’s level. The situational
approach can take a lot of time and may not be appropriate for all students. In addition,
since textbooks have so many limitations, they cannot be used in this kind of approach, which
goes beyond traditional classroom instruction by creating real-world scenarios. Additionally,
this method may lead to misunderstanding outside of the classroom because it teaches
vocabulary through real-world circumstances rather than by translating or explaining new
words, and they learn only the sentence structure rather than the meaning of the words.

2. As a future educator, which of the above methods of language arts teaching suits your principles
in language teaching? Explain.
Pioneering a new system in coherence with being an effective educator is something this
new era needs; positive to changes it is. I’d choose the conventional way of teaching or in
layman’s term, direct method. Through this I’d be able to first handedly apply my skills and
talent to impart and inspire my students to be more than mediocre learners. The hybrid set
up stalled potentials providing sub-optimal outputs stifling communication due to a lack of
personal contact with the educator.

3. Identify one adverse effect of integrating technology in language teaching and learning.
Elaborate your idea.
It’s evident that distractions are one touch away in the cyber world. The internet is a vast
network for information, entertainment, transaction and communication. This would affect
student’s focus eating away their time exposing too much screentime on social medias,
downloadable applications, cloud based softwares and etc. This serves as a huge barrier
attaining vital information and effective communication in language teaching and learning.

4. Why there's a need to identify the approach/method to be used in language arts teaching?
We need to identify the approach and method to be used in language arts teaching because
teaching methods assist students in understanding course material and how to apply it in
different circumstances, while teaching approaches assist students in achieving learning
outcomes. Furthermore, teachers have the opportunity to choose what is the right or
appropriate approach/ method that they can apply or used to cater the needs of students, it
also help teachers teach their full potential, and engage and motivate students.

5. If you will introduce new approach/method for language arts teaching what do you call it?
Explain this approach/method.
If I were to introduce a new strategy or method for teaching language arts, I would call it the
selective method. Using this strategy, students would only choose the key words, important
phrases, central ideas, and vocabulary, among other things. Students learn primarily by underlining
or highlighting the text; by doing so, they are better able to remember and understand the context
of what they have read. The advancement of the students’ reading and comprehension skills is the
main objective of this approach.
