1. How does a healthy, active neighborhood help you in achieving optimal fitness?
- Having a healthy, active neighborhood promotes physical activity through activity-
supportive environmental features and activity-friendly areas. Neighborhood designs
such as walkable areas and parks have the potential to help residents do some physical
activities. This is essential as researchers believe that providing a healthier communities
could help curb obesity and other sedentary-lifestyle diseases, which is a rising problem
as it becomes a global pandemic. Aside from this, having a healthy and active
neighborhood could also help your mental stability which is significant in achieving
optimal fitness. People can relieve stress and boredom through doing recreational
activities.
2. How can you promote an active healthy lifestyle in your neighborhood? List down some ways.
- There are a lot of ways in which I could promote an active healthy lifestyle in my neighborhood. These
are (1) Advocate the community to make it more walkable and bikeable, (2) Grow healthy foods in the
backyard, (3) Promote in preserving green spaces, (4) Be a responsible citizen through composing wastes
and segregating trash, and (5) Be eco-friendly.
