Formulating national basic education plan
Promulgating national educational standards
Monitoring and assessing national learning outcomes
Undertaking national educational research studies
Enhancing employment status, professional competence, welfare and working conditions
of all personnel of the department
Enhancing the total development of learners through local and national programs and
projects

- Translation and reformulation of national baisc education plan to apply to regional level

Monitoring, evaluating and assessing regional learning outcomes

Undertaking research and development projects in regional level

Ensuring strict compliance with the criteria of the national level for recruitment selection and training
all staff in the region and divisions
- Formulating, in coordination with the regional development council, the budget to support the regional
educational plan with consideration for the division and district level

Determining the organization component of the division and district level
- Human resource hiring and evaluation for regional offices, except the assistant director
- Evaluation of division superintendent and assistant superintendents in the region

Planning and managing the effective and efficient use of all personnel, physical and fiscal resources of the
office

Managing the database and management information system of the region
- Approving the establishment of public and private elementary and high school and learning center
DIVISION LEVEL
Transformation and reformulation of regional basic education plan to division
level
Planning and managing the effective and efficient use of all personnel, physical
and fiscal resources of the division, including professional staf development
Human resource evaluation, hiring and placement on all division supervisors
and school district supervisors as well as employees in the division, both
teaching and non-teaching personnel, including school heads, except for
assistant division superintendent
Monitoring of funds
Ensuring compliance of quality standards for basic educational programs
Promoting awareness of and adherence by all schools and learning centers to
accreditation standards prescribed by the Secretary of Education
Supervising the operations of all public and private elementary, high school
and integrated schools and learning centers
