How to set up EPC in MARSHA TFD = Tax and Fee Table in MARSHA

- Hotels with multiple occupancy rooms can define extra person charges

- Fee must be fixed, per person and per night

- Default min. age at which EPC is permitted is age 12 (variation to min. age require approval)

- (Extra person charge can be seasonal if required)

- Submit MARSHA Tax & Fee form via SNOW (for EPC no approval needed)

For room pools for occupancies greater than 2 and where EPC is charged
- Contact Booking.com support team through Booking.com extranet inbox or Booking.com
Partner Support

- Following information needed:

o Booking.com room name & room ID
o Booking.com rate name & rate ID
o Value of the supplement – supplement value must match TFD Extra Person charge
value (incl. applicable taxes)

Important:
- All rates must be built against a room pool (only selected rates not possible)

- Derived pricing value applies to double rate as sent by MARSHA

- Derived pricing prevents B.com from reading single occ. Rate through direct connect
o If hotel prices single/double occ. differently than hotel needs to apply negative value for
single occ.

- If additional breakfast fees not included in the hotel’s extra person charge and charged
separately, then the hotel cannot use derived pricing for breakfast inclusive rates

- Seasonal variance not supported

- Do not use “Child Occupancy and Supplement Pricing” -> MARSHA can´t read children occ.
(Children counted as adults)

EPC Process on Property

Children’s ages and TFD charges will not appear in PMS (does not apply for B.com if Derived pricing is activated). Therefore, its essential to conduct pre-arrival
planning.

Process for Pre-arrival planning:

➢ Pull B104 or Res Created today reports

➢ Check SRC’s and number of occupants – check against summary of charges in EMPOWER Res App & MARSHA or Expedia extranet for
children’s ages.
➢ Update number & ages of children in PMS (if any).
➢ Using the below option, manually add the additional fee identified by SRC and specified in Summary of charges and/or COST in MARSHA.

Once the additional amount/s have been identified, they need to be manually added to the reservation in PMS and therefore reflect on the guest’s bill.

Package option (advised)

(does not apply for B.com if Derived pricing is activated)

Add a package (use Transaction Code for Rooms Miscellaneous Income (1690x) which maps to 361424 - Misc. Other Room Rev) to the rate in Opera
with the additional fee specified
- Packages appear as a separate charge on the guest folio
- Note this amount will NOT be commissionable to Travel agents with IATA if the rate is marked as commissionable
- This will NOT be counted towards the segmentation ADR (it reports Rooms other revenue and not segment revenue in both OPERA and
PeopleSoft)
- Packages can be reported on both as a forecast and historic report
- Packages can also be linked to item inventory and when added can remove the item from the inventory count of the hotel (i.e. R1 – rollaway bed)

Other Considerations
- Echannels sends Expedia any TFD changes made within
last week every Thursdays (weekly)

- Hotels with variation to min. age of 12 should ensure that

the child / existing bed policy matches brand.com,

with Derived pricing w/o Derived pricing

- If a hotel removes derived pricing and no longer charges
EPC, it needs confirmation from their Booking.com
Account Manager that this has been removed
o ensure single + double occ. is showing on the frontend
(if & when single use priced differently).
