We disinfected a wound with antiseptic and applied a spray containing fipronil to suffocate maggot larvae and force them out of tunnels. Using a clamp, we removed each larva one by one until certain no more remained, repeating the process every two to three days.

After disinfecting the wound with an antiseptic solution, we applied Biovet spray (0.
25% fipronil), which
prevents the maggot larvae from breathing, causing them to leave the deep tunnels in search of fresh oxygen. We then pulled each larva out one at a time with a curved homeostatic clamp until all were captured. Until we were certain that there were no more larvae, this process had to be repeated every two to three days.
