COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is the first of a two-part sequence in Introductory Spanish. Students develop communicative skills in speaking,
writing, reading and listening comprehension. They also examine selected aspects of the Spanish and Hispanic
world. (Not open to native speakers.)
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
1) comprehend basic oral and written Spanish;
2) speak in Spanish on a variety of topics;
3) use the present tense to speak and write Spanish with grammatical accuracy; and
4) identify selected aspects of Spanish and Hispanic cultures.
