WRITTEN WORK #3: DISEASE CAUSING BACTERIA

TYPE OF DISEASE BACTERIAL CAUSE EFFECT ON HUMAN

BODY
Tetanus Clostridium tetani It frequently causes the neck
and jaw muscles to lock,
making it difficult to open
the mouth or swallow. It
begins with minor spasms of
the jaw muscles (lockjaw).
These spasms can also affect
the muscles in your chest,
neck, back, and abdomen.

Gonorrhea Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It infects the reproductive

tract's mucous membranes,
including the cervix, uterus,
and fallopian tubes in
women, and the urethra in
both men and women, and it
can also infect the mouth,
throat, eyes, and rectum.

Salmonellosis Salmonella enteritis It is a disease that affects the

intestinal tract. Humans are
usually infected through
contaminated water or
food. This bacterium causes
most people to have
diarrhea, fever, and stomach
(abdominal) cramps.

Diphtheria Corynebacterium It has an effect on the

diphtheriae mucous membranes of the
nose and throat. It causes
tissue damage in the
immediate area of infection
— the nose and throat. At
that location, the infection
forms a tough, gray
membrane composed of
dead cells, bacteria, and
other substances. This
membrane may obstruct
breathing.

Botulism Clostridium botulinum Weakens the muscles that

control the eyes, face,
mouth, throat, and
breathing muscles, resulting
in difficulty breathing and
even death. This weakness
has the potential to spread
to the neck, arms, torso, and
legs.
