Write a brief article on India's strategic geographical and the border that it shares with

the neighbouring countries?

Strategic geographical
India located north of the equator between 8°4' north to 37°6' north latitude and 68°7' to
97°25' east longitude. It is the seventh largest country in the world. From south to north total
distance 3,214 km and 2,433 km is the total distance from east to west. It has land boundary of
15,200 km and a coastline of 7,516.6 km .
India covered by seas from three side and one from land . It share east coast with
Bay of Bengal , west with Arabian sea and south with Indian Ocean . In North region it covered
by Himalayan mountain range . In Arabian sea lakshadweep islands situated and in Bay of
Bengal Andaman and Nicobar islands situated. .
It has a tropical climate which throughout most of the interior is a mixture of wet and
dry tropical weather . In northern parts there is a humid tropical climate and along the western
coast lies wet tropical areas .
There are quite strong variations in India’s four seasons. The summer months can get
extremely hot, stretching between March and June with maximum temperatures in certain parts
reaching at least 40°C. This is the pre-monsoon season (though thunderstorms are
experienced in the north-eastern and eastern parts of Bihar, Assam and West Bengal while in
the plains of north-west India, hot and dry winds are common). July to September brings the
monsoon rains which supply around three-quarters of the countries yearly rainfall. Autumn
stretches from October to December and marks the transition to winter. Temperatures slowly
start to decrease and there is also a reduction in the humidity experienced across the country.
Rainfall is still common in some parts. Winter can begin as early as December, however for
most areas January and February see the onset of of this cold season which brings average
temperatures of between 10°C and 15°C in the northwest regions and between 20°C and 25°C
in the southeast region of mainland India. The heaviest snowfall in the mountainous regions
occurs between these months and the temperatures can drop well below zero.

Neighbouring countries
India shared border with seven countries are China , Pakistan,Bhutan Myanmar,
Afghanistan,Nepal and Bangladesh. It share 4,096 km border with bangladesh , 3,488 km
border with China , 1,752 km border with Nepal , 578 km border with Bhutan , 1,643 km border
with Myanmar , 3,310 km border with Pakistan, and 106 km border with Afghanistan.
