First let's identify the functions of the reproductive system

Fallopian Tube- A long thick muscular tube which transport ova from the ovary to the uterus
where fertilisation occurs

Ovary- Rounded shape . Produce ova and female sex hormones (estrogen,
progesterone)

Uterus - Thick and muscular. Expands during pregnancy to accommodate the foetus
during birth

Vagina- Thin-walled Muscular passage connected to the uterus . Accommodates the


male penis which secretes sperm during intercorse it also expands to let the baby out
during birth .

{Cervix- Ring of muscle around the neck of the uterus .Keeps the neck closed during
{pregnancy , when an egg is released from the ovary watery mucus is produced this
{helps the sperm to swim through the uterus

{Uterus - Pear shaped . Where the foetus grows and develops during pregnancy }
MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Functions of the male reproductive system

Seminal gland and prostate gland- Glands that secrete fluid which mixes with sperm to
form semen . The fluid stimulates the sperm to swim.

Urethra - long muscular tube which transport semen outside of the body

Testis- oval shaped, This contains many coiled seminiferous tubules . IT also produce sperm
and male sex hormones (testosterone)

Scrotal sac or Scrotum- A Sac of skin which hold the testis at temperature below 37 degrees
celsius to ensure the sperm develop normally and to survive

Foreskin - Protects the head of the penis

Penis - Connective tissue with many blood spaces surrounding the urethra . Become erect to
deposit sperm to the vagina

Epididymis - Series of Coiled tubules. Stores sperm

Vas Deferens- Muscular tube which transport sperm to the uthera
