Instructions: What is something that you accomplished or learned in this subject that you
are proud of? Write a short essay in 2 paragraph which describes your accomplishment or
learning, the obstacles or difficulties that you encounter along the way, and the things that you
felt after accomplishing the task or learning that concept.

This module taught me to broaden my ideas, especially in agriculture, society, health, and
environment. No other than module 8, which is learning about biodiversity, GMOs, and the
health society. At first, I didn’t have any idea about what Ms. Erica was talking about when she
said GMOs. For me, it is hard to come up with something that isn't familiar, and I am thinking
about why this kind of topic has been added to this module, along with reading a lot of
handouts, which is very frustrating honestly. What's cool is that Ms. Erica did not pressure us
with activities, unlike with my other subject teacher, who's given us almost 7 activities every
week. By the way, I can't blame them since it's their job. Learning the lessons under Module 8 is
very tiring, especially when you are uninterested in the topic. I am thinking about the
connection between this lesson and my future. So, what I did was to read my handout little by
little, and what I learned was very surprising.

Honestly, it is very surprising. This module expanded my understanding of the emergence of

golden rice, which was experimented with and developed to adapt to the effects of climate
change. At this moment, what I am thinking is that if the golden rice were totally distributed to
the farmers in countries that are suitable for rice production, this would serve as a great help to
sustain the hunger and nutrients of people, especially children. But also, the process of
experimenting with GMO for crops must be safe for health so that no one can be harmed. I
could say that there's something additional knowledge that I have gained, and I am so proud of
myself because I didn’t stop pushing myself to take this topic seriously. From feeling tired to
feeling interested again. There are a lot of challenges and difficulties in learning this subject
generally, especially for someone like myself who does not love to read and gets easily irritated,
but I am here right now to prove that there's nothing impossible if you let yourself learn and
focus.
