UTC (7:30 AM Philippine Local Time on the Dissipated: October 1, 2022

(AHI) instrument flying aboard a JMA satellite.
When this was taken it was a Category 5
equivalent typhoon with winds of 160 mph (260
km/h) (140 knots) and had a minimum central
pressure of 940 mbar (27.8 inHg).until it was
released from PAR, it was observed for eleven
(11) days.

Typhoon Nalgae

Prior to making landfall in Hong Kong and Macau,


Severe Tropical Storm Nalgae, also known as Severe
Tropical Storm Paeng in the Philippines, wreaked
havoc on the Philippines. The 2022 Pacific typhoon
season's 22nd named tropical storm, Nalgae, formed on

the disturbance, which had been given the initial
designation of 93W, was downgraded to a tropical
depression and given the new designation of 26W by
the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). However,
the disturbance was already categorized as a tropical
depression by the Japan Meteorological Agency
(JMA). It lasted for twelve (12) days, and before it
showed up, we saw typhoon noru, another typhoon that
made landfall in the Philippines.
