 INTRODUCTION
Townscape is defined as the landscape within the built-up area, including the buildings, the relationship between them, the different types of urban open
spaces, including green spaces and the relationship between buildings and open spaces. It considers the relationship with its surrounding landscape and describes its
townscape features including urban form, streets, buildings, important landmarks, open space and views. Whereas in this section, analysis on the interplay of topography
and street pattern of the proposed area is done in order to determine desired townscape elements that contribute to the visual appearance of the town including buildings
and architecture, street furniture, signage, landscape and open space. Site visit was conducted at the scheduled place which is around Jeti Lumut to gather as many
informations in favor of townscape analysis. While undergoing the assessment, some important aspects need to be identified comparatively the issues going on there, the
positive outcome of the issue and specific informations on each perspective element. Thus, this townscape appreciation analysis is expected to come out with the best
sequel in order to propose an excellent townspace.

 SITE BACKGROUND
Lumut is a tourism and maritime town located in Manjung District. Lumut is also famous for its main icon, which is the city
where the Head Quarters of the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) is located, which is based at Pengkalan TLDM Lumut in the
western part of Lumut Town. Lumut accommodates various commercial activities for the purpose of tourism. In addition, this

transport route by using a ferry from Lumut Jetty Terminal to Pangkor Island Jetty. In addition to Bandar Lumut, which is the
main entrance to Pangkor Island, there is also Marina Island, which is located about 10 minutes from Bandar Lumut for a
distance of 8.6 km by car and is the second entrance to Pangkor Island.
