Assignment 1 (30%) DESIGN AN INFOGRAPHIC POSTER

You have recently started a new job in the HR department of and a big board meeting is coming up.
This strategic meeting brings together the heads of the various departments such as Finance,
Marketing, Operations and Logistics.

You are also aware that within the organisation, HRM is perceived as a business function which does
not directly contribute to the financial success of the organisation and as such is not being
considered “an important business function”. Having just completed a module in HRM at University
you are able to demonstrate the importance of HRM for the organisation based on current facts and
academic theory.

In order to convince your audience, you want to create a document which conveys highly relevant
information in a captive manner. Instead of a typical PPP, you had the idea of summarising all
essential information on a poster in form of an infographic.

When you create your poster, you need to consider the following aspects:

- Be creative but focus on the key message.


- The poster needs to be prepared for a digital submission.
- You need to include references and a list of references used MUST be submitted together
with the poster.
- The poster needs to be visually appealing and graphs, tables etc. need to be readable and
contain all necessary information.
- You should use a range of different techniques as presented in the infographics workshop.
- The poster should only contain text if necessary and key messages need be presented in the
style of an infographic.
- You MUST include academic theory and information from reliable resources.
- Look at the marking criteria for specific mark allocations.
