PROJECT PROPOSAL
Project Description: Reading is the foundation of all learning and knowledge. Whatever we
want to learn, we need to be able to read. This is the reason why libraries and
reading corners are very essential in developing and improving the literacy
skills of millennial learners. But because of the huge impact of technology
nowadays, children became more reliant and dependent in the internet in
searching and doing their home works and projects. Of course, it would be a
whole lot easier to search in the web because it only requires one click to get
the information you want, thus, children tend to become languid to open and
to browse their books or even to go to the library thus, increasing the number
of frustrated readers every year.
In order to address this, Duang Niog Elementary School through the
leadership of our dynamic school head, Mr. Jay P. Miraña, intensified the
functionality and sustainability of its reading corners by making it a contest
wherein the grade level with the Most Creative and Functional Reading
Corner will receive an award.
This celebration is our way of responding to the goals and objectives of
the "Every Child a Reader Program', 'Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa",
SANA'All Readers' Project which are geared toward the development of
literacy skills and love for reading among our learners.
This will motivate teachers and parents to turn their corners in a more
usable learning area. As a result, this will strengthen and bring back the love
of children in reading books which will help in addressing literacy gaps
among learners.
