The Effect of Environment on Academic Success in Adolescents

I. Introduction

A. Hook: Do you ever notice how your person is affected by the interactions with

your surroundings?

B. Although it is widely believed that academic success can only be influenced by

intelligence and studying, research suggests that there are two aspects to a

student's environment that play an essential role in their academic performance:

physical environment and social environment.

C. Background Information:

1. Social environment consists of behaviors, attitudes, and relationships of

students. It describes how students interact with their environments and

how it affects their learning.

2. The physical environment is another factor of the environment that

focuses mainly on what surrounds the student. The results of this

environment are displayed through student engagement and motivation

within the classroom.

3. In Islam, it is not explicitly explained whether the environment has an

impact on learning. However, there are many parts of islam that hint at it.

For example, education, care for children,and care for the environment.

II. Social Environment

 A. The environment of a student is dependent on many factors, including the social

environment.

B. Stewardship and Citizenship

1. Promote, participate, and sustain a better environment by students for

students

2. Responsibility of protecting and enhancing social relations in classrooms

C. Student attitude, behavior, and relationships within a classroom

III. Physical Environment

A. Although the social environment plays an essential role in students' academic

success, the physical environment is just as important.

B. The Physical environment consists of five main factors: clutter, comfort, noise,

color, and lighting.

A. In many scientific studies, research shows the impact of the environment on a

student's academic success.

B. Many scientific studies have concluded that the environment plays an essential

role in academic success. Both teachers and students should pay heed to their

surroundings for advancement of academic goals.

C. The environment consists of multiple factors that work like cogs on wheels. If

one aspect is missing, the machine as a whole will stop functioning. Similarly, if

one factor of environment in education comes to a halt, students will not achieve

the academic success they are capable of. Caring for the environment is just as

important as studying.
